RE: Big East expansion
I don't have any hate for the Big East. I would put them in the #3-5 range depending on the year. The Big 12 and Big Ten have been the best conferences lately; historically it would be the ACC, but they've been down a bit. To me, the conference tiers go something like this over the past 3-5 years:

Tier 1: Big Ten, Big 12
Tier 2: ACC, Big East, SEC
Tier 3: AAC, Pac-12
Tier 4: Atlantic 10, Mountain West, MVC, WCC
Good mid-majors: CAA, C-USA, Ivy, OVC, Patriot, SoCon, Sun Belt
Low major: Just about everyone else, although there are 2 or 3 you could argue for being in the good mid-major tier

Anyone who says the Big East isn't a top 5 conference in basketball is in serious denial. Wichita would be insane to turn down an invite but it's a mute point anyway.

I’m arguing that the Big East isn’t a top 3 conference. Have no problem saying top 5.

Just wait until Houston and Cincy are no longer here.

Back to being a perennial 1 bid league.

I agree the AAC was the 7th best league and a tier 3 before the defections. It drops several notches after losing Cincy and UH and I would put all your tier 4's ahead of them.
