Precisely.
The Mtn’s media-partners were able to dictate the Mtn’s expansion moves, just like ESPN was able to dictate the AAC’s moves.

Oh the comedy......
What’s the comedy? Didn’t the AAC grab every C-USA Texas school not named UTEP?
Going after markets is still a thing in realignment. The AAC made the same mistake C-USA did in 2011-12. If I’m a Memphis fan I’d be pissed at the basketball deadweight the conference just added.
Just the comedy of dawgxas.
As far as the AAC, they are playing long ball. They tried for the MWC schools and didn't get them. However, they know BSU will be leaving in due time, and when they do, they know AF and CSU really wanted to get into Texas. AAC can provide a very reasonable western wing with tons of Texas exposure. However, when MWC tries to reload, there will be slim pickings left in Texas, so most likely those two bolt, maybe even SDSU as well. This is where the AAC may not have won today's battle, but they put themselves in the position to win the war.

There's only room for one tallest midget award in the G5, and both the MWC and the AAC want it. Looks like there's going to be a bidding war for CUSA's Texas schools.
The Mtn. West can still grab UTEP and TXST if they want.
