I had UTEP winning these last 2 games, now it gets a lot harder and the offense will need to score more points. Sometimes Confidence is all it takes to take that next step. Still see 7 wins

This is the worse S. Miss team I think I ever saw and that includes the 0-12 team. That team played some really good teams OOC. I know its the worse offensive team I ever saw at S. Miss over the last 15 years

I’ve bet against us every week - 5-0 gimme putts…

****hold the presses**** uab opened at -14.5 and immediately jumped to -16.5 … lmfao … the Vegas fkbags almost finally got one right…

I still say we don’t cover 21…

I noticed that.

I won 4 weeks in a row on the over with Western.

This Western's team offense has been unstoppable even playing against the 33rd hardest schedule in the FBS. What makes the over a gimme is the Western defense cant stop anyone.

Hell made a average passing QB (UTSA Harris) look like Tom Brady in his best year

I just ran the numbers and this Western offense has scored, TD, FG or went for it on 4th down (3 times) and did not make it, in easy fg range...

90% of their drives after the opening drive and 80% overall. Still 1-4

Congrats to the Miners. Good luck on becoming bowl eligible and playing in the postseason.

The 2013 offense (Monken's first season) was very similar to this season (only we weren't down to our #4 QB that year) until the last game vs UAB when that offense put up 62 points. I don't think this year's offense could score 62 on most juco teams.

Our WRs and RBs are actually pretty good, but you can't tell because of the play of the OL and QB.

You know it's bad when the highlight is the punter. Mason Hunt punted 6 times for a 52 yard average (51 yard net) and pinned UTEP at their 1, another inside the 10 (maybe the five) and another inside the 20.

Now, back to the Sun Bowl and the La Tech Bulldogs. Before this game I would have said that the Miners wouldn't stand a chance. Now, not so much. With the way we've been playing on both fronts and in our home field I wouldn't be surprised to be favored. But, it doesn't matter as long as the Miners come out on the winning side.

Congrats UTEP. Please go easy on LA Tech this week. UTEP can always qualify for a bowl some other week. It doesn't have to be this week.03-thumbsup

About 60% of our fan base isn't excited about the 5-1 start. They want to see us beat LA Tech and start 6-1 for the first time since 1956 before jumping on the bandwagon. Such high expectations for a team with such little success.

I haven't kept up with any conference opponents that much recently. What happened to Hopson?

Boy you are behind the times. Hopalong took a permanent vacation after getting curb stomped by Southern Alabama the first game of 2020. I believe we had like half a dozen head ball coaches the remainder of the year. Last season was the preview cluster to this fine showing.

Have you seen our overall record the last five years? It's easy to lose interest in anything football related.

I see. I thought he was doing a good job bringing USM back to prominence.

Under Hopson, the program was slowly declining until last year when it hit warp speed. The rest of this season will be a tremendous struggle with our poor OL and QB situation. Things will improve substantially next season and Southern Miss will be competing for CUSA titles again in a few years (at least that's the plan).
