RE: Regionalization concept to be presented Monday
I don’t know what they expect to accomplish presenting a redesign plan to the school President’s of just one of the involved conferences . . .

If you really wanna have some fun, present it to the President’s of all three conferences . . . then stand back, and watch the fur fly. . .

Sounds like a desperate attempt of a land grab by CUSA disguised as a realignment. That or find a way to get better teams while dumping their crappy teams in someone’s else’s lap.

What is their region anyways? They’re so spread out.

As a USM fan, how do you think Golden Eagle brass would react to the presentation honestly?

Smile and nod and keep on moving ahead with plans to move on. I know for a fact there have been discussions in recent months among several G5 ADs about regionalization and it just isn’t going to happen. In the same discussion I heard that Delaney had been engaged by C-USA in pursuit of finding the best path forward for the conference. This is shooting that shot.

Doesn't CBS have C-USA's TV rights? Makes sense CBS would publish articles that promote C-USA or ideas that would boost C-USA's profile.

Ha! Yeppers.

All this time I was wondering what Delaney would come up with, and thinking that maybe they’d luck out and dodge the old bullet by pulling a rabbit out of his hat.

Seems like even with the help of Delaney the best they could do was pull a turd out lol.

This right here. This school redistribution plan is the only way the people in the Dallas office hold on to anything worthwhile.

Teams in the middle (Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Georgia to an extent, Louisiana to an extent) have the least to gain. They're in reasonable distance to the west and east. What's in it for them? Also, N. Texas and La. Tech will never go for it.

There was not a small amount of polishing involved.

CUSA and the MWC, the only 2 leagues who would actually benefit from this.

Exactly. They benefit by this making everyone in the East worse.

And north of the Ohio River, the MAC is eating popcorn, watching all this drama unfold.

Lol. True. I guess that makes the huge fee they no doubt had to pay Delaney seem worthwhile. At least in coosa-world.

The Big East too. Just think about all the drama they endured for decades before finally splitting off away from football. Now they're watching it all and probably laughing.

The way Southern Miss has been treat by CUSA I expect nothing more than just a nice head nod from us. CUSA has gone out of its way to minimize our influence but now is actively seeking our help. No thanks.
