RE: Open Thread - 2021 Week 6
There were 3 great games on at noon.
GT Duke
Texas Oklahoma
Ole Miss Arkansas

Unfortunately Oklahoma covered the spread on their last play with a TD instead of kicking a field goal which wouldn't have covered the spread.

Another heart breaker for Louisville. UVa QB looked pretty sharp.

Collins really teetered on the edge of another negative lurch in the fan base.

I’m beginning to see why Maryland left. Still, a 17 point lead headed to the 4th qtr leave it to coach Satt to screw it up.

You need to hire a head coach who has a feel for the actual game instead of a predetermined set of responses like a dumb dog.

Babers is a terrible gameday coach. This loss is all on him. He had the chance to allow Wake to go for a field goal at the SU 30 and it was 3rd and 13. They get a 10 yard penalty and he opts to put Wake back to 4th and 23. They convert 4th and 23 and score a TD. There was no telling if their kicker could have made a 51 yard fg. Even if they did, that was the difference in the game in regulation. They would have needed a TD instead of a fg to tie the game in regulation. Then the clock management was ridiculous. SU should get to a bowl this year if they tighten up a few key areas. Next year, they should be winning these close games more than not, even if Babers is still coaching. The whole team is eligible to play next year. The QB Garrett Shreader is a beast.

Coaches that can't keep time and can't feel the flow of the game will NEVER be the kind of coach a program wants. They don't win the big games unless their talent is so overwhelming they just pummel the other team. Babcock and Wildhack should fine both of their head coaches $25K and go by their houses tonight and make their wives give them the damn money.

it was 3rd and 23 and it was the right call just wrong defense called and no the reason we lost is entirely on special teams. There kicker was hitting pregame from 58 yards. Our kicker missed a relatively easy 45 yarder thatended up costing us in regulation

Yes it was 3rd and 23, but it would have been 4th and 13 had Babers declined the penalty. Wake would have gone for the 51 yard FG. At 3rd and 23 they were out of fg range and had to go for it. Even with our kicker missing the field goal, if Babers made Wake go for the field goal at 3rd and 13 that would have been enough to win the game in regulation.

Maryland left so they could take regular 66-17 point asswhippings by Yankees.
