There are no shortcuts here. We need someone to maximize limited resources as Snyder did at KSU. If we do show signs of life, support will come.

why limited resources?
While some supplemental facilities have been built up, the stadium is quite old and is showing its age. Fan support is limited at the moment due to a not-unreasonable “wait and see” attitude. It’s a relatively low population state that doesn’t produce a ton of local talent.

Baylor fans were not sure what we had in Aranda going into this year. Last year was a disaster offensively. People were pleased that he acted so quickly to change the offensive staff and like the hires he made. Fans are pretty excited at this point. We may have just lucked into a good long term coach. It sure is fun right now.

I literally could not be happier with Luke Fickell. If he wanted $10 mill per for 100 years I would vote to pillage the endowment. Statues of living people are a bit tacky but in this case I will allow it.

I have never been this excited for a new basketball coach in Wes Miller.

And if memory serves, a trickle-down, fiscally conservative governor cut taxes and demolished the state budget a few years ago.

I never dreamed we'd ever hire another staff that would compare to Brian Kelly after he left for Notre Dame. We just beat him in his house. Not worried anymore about Fick leaving for another job. That threat is at every program not named Alabama and a few others. Fick has stayed for a fifth season and now that we are coming to the B12 that takes another factor to leave off his list. I also feel that Cincinnati has enough success capital that we can attract top coaches well into the future.

Why does it always have to be about the money? Now that Cinci is going to the Big12 I think it really increases the chance to keep him longer.

I feel good about UCF coaching staff. I think Recruiting under Huep suffered, and this group has lifted that a couple of rungs up the ladder. If they can get us 2 or 3 more wins and a bowl game(extra practice and play time ) We will have a much deeper team next year than we would have, before all the injuries. If next year we can recruit like we have so far this year, I think a big improvement will be set up, just in time for the B12.

Kalani Sitake is the right guy for BYU. Lots of fans are unhappy with the Defensive Coordinator. I haven't liked that when a 3-man rush is getting picked apart by a good QB that they haven't changed it up during a game. But I'm not football smart enough to know if they are going with that defense because it puts the best players on the field and they don't have enough depth to do anything else. Or is it stubborn coaches sticking with something that works sometimes even when it isn't working on a particular day.

At 9-4 new coaches did a decent job, maybe even better than that with the injuries we had this year. Recruiting is up, I feel good about the direction of the program. Beating UF in bowl was a positive.

RE: How do you feel about your teams coaching staff?
KU definitely needs to stay the course. The last three games were encouraging. And even though this team was two plays from a winless season, the team was more competitive and did not make the types of mistakes pervious KU teams made that led to self destructive. Leipold has made some staff changes but he has mentioned that stability in coaching staff is important.

Leipold seems to be creative in using the transfer portal and we will see if that will provide an upgrade in talent. He seems to be targeting players who have a track record by having already played college football who also have 2-3 years of eligibility.

I think Gus has been great in the Transfer Portal. And he was good at normal high school signs as well.

RE: How do you feel about your teams coaching staff?
Well, we're not returning a bunch of 5th year seniors this time around so now we'll see how well Campbell has been developing the underclassmen. The fanbase is not panicking however, as this staff has shown a willingness to rotate plenty of 2nd and 3rd stringers all season long. Hardly anyone will be stepping on the field with no snaps under their belt.

7-6 was pretty disappointing based on preseason expectations, but the results weren't perceived so much a result of unpreparedness or disfunction as it was simply the ball often not bouncing our way. With such a familiar roster, it also felt as though some teams had figured us out. Heacock's 3-3-5 "cloud" is less of a novelty now, and the defense's weaknesses were exposed. The season did feature a few significant victories: knocking off Oklahoma State, messing with Texas, and winning in Manhattan.

Campbell's success against conference opponents is unprecedented in Iowa State history. If Cyclone fans are frustrated with anything, it's struggling to beat UNI every other year and the skid against Iowa.

Football:
After losing some assistant coaches to Ohio State, LSU, and ND and seeing the replacements I feel about the same as previous years. Obviously head coach is A+ until further notice

Basketball:
First year I think coach has been very good and excited for the season to play out. The primary assistant coaches were all A+ hires as well. Will know more in year 2 and 3 when coach isn't relying so much on previous coach's players and the transfer portal.
