What has been the latest CST start time for Texas teams?
I'm curious what has been the latest CST start time for Texas teams?

I think as Pete Thamel has mentioned that is one of the ways the B12 gets paid in the next league tv contract and being flexible to play games in the late window.

BYU & and a possible BSU addition definitely fit this time slot.

I'm sure Texas schools could play a 8 pm or 8:30 CST start game, since schools do this in the EST time slot all the time? Do they have many games in this time slot?

I wonder if the occasional 9 CST is something they can do for value for the league. In Sept and early Oct. I would think these start times would be preferred to the 11 A.M. or 2:30 start time due to the heat. It just doesn't seem right watching football in that hot of weather and it can't be great for the fans.

I'm pretty sure UH played 9pm games in CUSA, I remember being in the parking lot after games around 1am. Honestly I liked that much better than day games especially early in the season.

I can't recall a TCU football game starting at 8pm or later local time; but i do think it would be worth considering in a new TV deal. Definitely I think wouldn't hurt attendance early in the season, i'd think in a lot of cases would actually help it.

There no doubt the later a UH game starts the better the attendance. There have been some miserable 11 am games i had to get in the shade, later games have also been easier for those with younger kids in sports to attend as well.

There is a balance though because as the time gets too late you will isolate families on the back end as well. But then at least I could get a babysitter for my kids and go to the game vs. morning soccer, baseball, etc.. interfering with 11am or even early afternoon starts.

Amon Carter can be brutally hot early in the season, especially the east side of the stadium.

This is where adding Boise and SDSU would be good. The NB12 would have 1 Pac and 2 Mtn time zone teams that would fill time slots. BYU and Boise have proven track records with above average ratings for the late night slot, beating P12 schools often.

SDSU has an institutional profile in line with the NB12, as well both BB and football success. It is further east than most understand, and east of Reno, for example. It isn't much further west than Boise. If the B12 can include Boise, it can include San Diego.

I would think At least 1 western add would be good. Like said above it is a time slot that the B12 could add on easier. Boise in the B12 would be a bigger sell than in MWC, same for SDSU.
