-I don't think he ever had a full roster during his 7 years here
-He only recruited WR and QB
-He never held players accountable
-He would cut practices short so the players could eat snow cones and play on slip and slides
-He did not build team chemistry ( was told half the players didn't even know their teammates name).
-He left us a depleted non talented roster.

I expect to see half our team enter the portal after the season. Most of them will be starters. Jones is gonna clean house and start over.

Miami has lost to UVA, Michigan State, and Alabama....

Not all 2-3 records are created equal.

You've played Kansas...whose lone win was by 3 points over South Dakota (not even SDSU), Buffalo (squeaked by), UMass, ULM, and El Cit...

App has played ECU, Miami, Elon, Marshall, and Georgia State (who should've beat Auburn). There is no compari-son, son.

But first you have to do something you've never done before...win in raucous Jonesboro on what is sure to be a HYPED Thursday night.

Why did Arkansas State lose to GS? They spent all week prepping for Coastal. In truth, playing GS and Coastal back to back would be a benefit for a team with a pulse since both run a fork of the option.

Coastal's offense is way more complex than just option football, so it really has no relation to GS except for maybe the option principles, which Arkansas State struggled with. Should be interesting to see how much they've studied Coastal's offense Thursday.

That was Coastal’s single biggest issue moving forward… how long it took us to get to full roster of schollies. We’re were just about caught up when the Moglia/Chadwell transition occurred, and that set us back significantly.

Lose 15+ kids… can’t make it up for 2+ years unless you’re really lucky and had a next to zero senior class. It’s brutal, and needs changed. Any program currently down in its luck, who is having trouble recruiting as is, cannot make it up.

Since we are about to embark on our first conference “away game” this season, here’s some motivation to continue our revenge tour (in before App St copycat notion) we began last year… some further proof we haven’t become “satisfied”. “Now we have targets on our back?” Not in the least. We still feel like we owe y’all. Lol.


Prior to last season, where obviously we only played half the conference on the road… we had only beaten Louisiana and GaSt “away”. Both those teams were away games again last year, so we only had 2 other teams to add to the away win total (Texas St and Troy). Makes 4 total. Everyone else would be in the “we never won in ___”, coming into this season.

2017: 1 away win, Idaho (no longer with us)
2018: 2 away wins, GaSt and Louisiana (our only 2 Conf wins that year)
2019: 0 away wins
2020: 4 away wins, GaSt, Louisiana, Texas St, Troy

2021: away teams coming up, Ark St, App St, GaSo, USA

Grand irony… sweep conference play this year again, and ULM is the lone remaining team we haven’t beat on the road. Something about you guys…[/code]

Anderson not having a full roster had nothing to do with limits. He rarely recruited a full class. He also didn't recruit depth which led to barely being 2 deep at all positions. We've been needing OL and DL depth for years but Anderson just had to have another skill player. Jones brought in 50+ players this year so we would have a 2 deep roster. Anderson killed our program by recruiting players that would have trouble starting at the FCS level. You'll see Thursday night just how bad it is.

What???... Lol. Doesn't even look like he's saying CCU invented anything. He was being funny saying App would say he stole it. Also, I don't think the whole point of a revenge tour is to even out an ALL TIME series record in one game. It's about beating a team the last time you were on the field. In this case he's pointed out a road revenge tour. Seems like everything a CCU fan says or does is taken to the extreme, totally out of context, or ignored all together on here LOL.

Those 2017 and 2018 teams were loaded with talent. I'll be glad when we start recruiting players like that again. Also our defense was fast back then. Our dline dominated.

I feel kind of bad for how he was run out of town and now seeing Arkansas State is the LOWEST RATED TEAM in the Sun Belt according to the Massey Composite.

Blake was a good dude who had a decent run with Astate (really should've had another conference title, 2 more bowl victories and beaten a Ranked Missouri in 2015 and Nebraska in 2017), who had an awful personal tragedy happen to him and his family, but his refusal to bow out and to try to keep coaching with his wife's illness and unfortunate passing has resulted in where we're at today

Also by all accounts I've heard from others, he was more like the "cool, frat dad" that didn't want to be viewed as the bad guy or overly bearing when it came to the players

This part sounds awful familiar from a GS fan perspective; hopefully the roster decimation piece isn’t quite as true and we salvage bowl season this year and have a good foundation for the next head guy.

A former stAte player lives in my neighborhood. He didn't have very many good things to say about Anderson who was his HC the entire time he was in Jonesboro. He spoke about many f the same issues you point out.
