The AAC may lose 3 more
Rumors floating around the Texas sports radio shows is the Big 12 may look to add 4 more teams. Boise, Memphis, SMU and USF. If this comes true the AAC will be dead. I believe this is why the Belt hasn't made any moves yet. Everybody is still waiting to see what the Big 12 is going to do.

This is also why they keep getting turned down.
So now we add ECU, USM, Marshall and one of Tulane, Rice or UTSA.
If the AAC loses that many teams, can the leaving teams claim the conference no longer exist and leave without exit fees???

Yeah, if that is true the AAC is dead. They seem to be having a really hard time getting any of their choice schools to come aboard.

Another reason that UAB should consider the Sun Belt.

RE: The AAC may lose 3 more
Is there anyone in the CUSA that the rest of the conference would like to move away from??? If so, the rest could just join the shell of the AAC and leave “School F” behind.

I still think that any CUSA team that isn't invited to another FBS league would accept an AAC invite.

School F is UTEP.

By my count, that leaves ECU, Temple, Navy, Tulane and Tulsa as football playing members of the AAC.
App, Marshall, Coastal and ECU would be over joyed about ending up in a conference together, now that may be on the table if ECU and Marshall join the SBC.
USM coming in feels right for most of the rest of the conference.
That takes us to 13, we still need a 14th team and Texas add gives travel partner and rival for TxSt, or do we look at a LaTech.
I wouldn’t mind Tulane coming in, and Tulsa wouldn’t be terrible either, as #14, but both are private schools, something we currently don’t have in conference.

No to any private schools. App and GS just left the Socon. Publics and Privates don't hold similar life goals.
Edit: I guess I'd be okay with 1 private school...but only one so they don't ha e enough clout to push any kind of agenda.

Who did you ask from ECU about that?

If you have no desire to be in the SBC, why are you driving around in our neighborhood???

If my conference was about to be potentially dissolved, I'd be glad to get an invite to just about anywhere. SBC has teams you're evenly matched with, an ESPN deal, and stability. Marshall would be a perfect fit IMO.

Can we pump the brakes a bit? Do we really think C-USA is going to outlast the AAC?

Considering some of the attitudes I’ve seen some Tulane fans holding over on their board anything other than a big 12 invite is a nonstarter.
