Exclamation AQ7 Week Six
Sam Houston is in the driver's seat right now after defeating Stephen F. Austin this past week. We will see how injuries shake out during the week but even with that being the case, Lamar at home should be a win.

Dixie State continues their difficult schedule at Montana. SFA has a chance for a playoff bid and there's probably no bigger test than the road trip to Jacksonville State for the Jacks remaining on the schedule. EKU defeated Tarleton and Abilene fell to UCA. Would be nice for us WAC fans to see ACU post a 'W'.

Saturday, October 9

Dixie State @ Montana
Lamar @ Sam Houston
Stephen F Austin @ Jacksonville State
Abilene Christian @ Eastern Kentucky

The Cats played very well in the 1st half. UCA scored their first TD on a fluke play and then they were off to the races. 3 2nd half turnovers doomed ACU. The last UCA touchdown was in garbage time.
No doubt about it, UCA is very, very good. I see them competing for an at large playoff spot. But they need to beat SFA to get there, I think. Unless ACU makes a run, I’m pulling for the Jacks (ouch) so that two WAC teams make the playoffs, at least.

Oct. 9th won't be a WAC win for ACU, just hope we don't flop. I feel sorry for Lamar as that will probably get ugly quick. I am interested to see how Dixie does against Montana and how SFA does against Jacksonville State. I am actually rooting for them as well.

Football is such a game of ironies. Very good game yesterday between Sam and SFA but think about this as terrible as Lamar football is the Cardinals have upset the Bearcats two or three times over the last ten years while SFA has failed each time. I don't expect the Lamar v Sam game to be close but you never know.

RE: AQ7 Week Six
If SF Austin loses to us this year they should just close the doors and give up football. This is the worst season we've seen in a very long time.

Kennesaw State is not part of the AQ7; they are going to make the formal move to ASUN football next year but for purposes of this - not in the league

Bad week for WAC teams as the A-Sun wins both of the cross conference games today.

RE: AQ7 Week Six
First time in my life I ever recall seeing the uniform violation rule enforced in a game. ACU was the road team so they had to wear white. They wore a ver pale gray and therefore was charged a timeout when the game started and also at the beginning of the second half. They only had two per half. EKU was in maroon so there was no issue with sight issues. Very weird.

It was asinine that some obscure rule was applied inappropriately. It was even more asinine that ACU couldn't make appropriate adjustments again to win a game. We started out atrocious and then still failed even when we tried to muster a comeback. We either shoot ourselves in the foot with penalties or lack basic ability to find a way to exploit weaknesses consistently. If it wasn't for the bad play of ACU, I never would have been able to tell the teams apart visually; just way too close in color and shade.......

Next week you guys can wear your red and root for Lamar. I'll watch just to see which Lamar team shows up. The Lamar offense will probably still stink but if the defense that played against Sam Houston shows up the score shouldn't be anything close to the earlier meeting this year.

I don't see us repeating the last score. I was a little surprised at the SHSU score. What I am interested in is seeing if either team really does much different.

Plus starting each half with a 15 yard "unsportsman-like" penalty seemed beyond weird. The Jerseys looked not unlike white ones that were played in the past -- if the field was not Astroturf.
