Chicago State Mens Hoops
Schedule: https://www.gocsucougars.com/sports/mens...l/schedule

Schedule highlights

5 Division I non conference home games is the most in recent years and a rapid turnaround from scheduling under Dildy and Irvin.

At Loyola Chicago and Drake
At Iowa State

Hosting fellow Illinois schools Illinois State, Northern Illinois, and SIUE.
Opening the season as host to St Thomas for their very first game as a Division I program

New coach Gerald Gillion says "We live in a digital age. Nobody has time to wait years for progress when everything around us changes so rapidly. I'm a winner. My staff and I will not accept mediocrity on any level. We need to win now, not next year. We don’t want to rebuild; we want to re-tool. The winning mentality is built to last.”

A Florida native, Gillion has spent time at USF, Florida International, Tennessee Tech and most recently Samford.

There are 9 transfers on State's roster, including a number of Juco standouts, including Favour Chukwukelu.

Chicago State has released their Promotional Schedule for Mens and Womens Basketball. These nights should help attendance a little and get more interest in the program, especially with their increase in home games this season.

For all home games, the department will debut the Cougar Youth High Five Club, in which local youth will line up for high fives and form a tunnel for the team as the Cougars come out of the tunnel.

Promo nights include Old Skool Night, Faculty/Staff Game, Ugly Sweater Game at Christmas etc.

There is a marked increase in excitement around Chicago State basketball this season, with a new coach and improved scheduling. Hopefully, they can pick up some wins and give the fans something to cheer about.

RE: Chicago State Mens Hoops
Another Chicago State win. It may be a small step to some, but this was a big step in the right direction! First back to back wins versus D1 teams in 7 years.

SIUE lead Shaky Smarts Marquette team at halftime and kept the game close, so they have some talent. I believe Chicago State and Marquette had similar margins of victory, around 11 points.

Chicago held SIUE to one shot from the field in the last 6 minutes.

I liked Tracy Dildy and thought he was doing a good job, but now I see how clearly a change was needed. Coach Gillion has already turned the corner with this program. I don't know how good they are, but its like a new program this year.

The crowd was bigger, the announcers were great, the band was good, the flag girls/dancers were good. It was just a great college basketball atmosphere and a step towards making Chicago State a much tougher place to win.
