This will be the 2nd litmus test of the season for Holgs. He failed the first one against TTech going scoreless in the 2nd half. I think if he fails this one, his seat becomes extremely hot, and the crowds will be howling for his removal.
I'm so lukewarm on Holgs, but the only reason is I can't bring myself to root for the Coogs to lose. The ends doesn't justify the means, IMO. GO COOGS!!!!

Cincy vs ND and OK state Baylor are interesting games to watch this week.

RE: Week 5 B12 Games
Cincy certainly has everything they need to beat ND. It comes down to the mental part - if they believe they can win. I expect a close first half with the Bearcats pulling ahead in the 4th quarter in a (relatively) low scoring game.
Baylor - OSU could come down to whoever has the ball last.

RE: Week 5 B12 Games
I have s to confess that BYU-Utah St games get terribly confusing for me because the uniforms are practically the same.
Do us all a favor and do a solid blue vs solid while combo

Ridder missed on a surefire touchdown pass on an early drive too, so it could easily be 24-0. Our defense has been pretty dominant and we're doing just enough on offense with the opportunities the D has afforded them. Pretty much textbook Cincinnati football in the Fickell era. I think one thing that separates us from a lot of other "G5" powerhouses in recent history is that we win on the line of scrimmage and with defense in general. There's no smoke and mirrors or offensive trickery in the way we win games. This team is built to compete in the trenches with really talented rosters like Notre Dame, and it's showing up in this game.

AGREED.
Fuente & staff are trying to build VT the same way (big linemen on offense & defense), but a lot of fans are losing patience with him losing close games (Fickell doesn't seem to have that problem, AFAIK).

Words can't express how I feel. I was a frosh at Cincinnati in 1986 and to experience how our program has grown from then to now is just unreal. Surreal. So proud of the effort today. Humble. Thankful. Grateful. Thank you B12 for the invite!

Not having the history of VT, Cincinnati fans are, generally, patient and grateful. It takes around 3-5 years for a new coach's system to take effect. Hopefully, VT fans give Fuente the time.

If VPI runs him off I'd gladly take Fuente back on TCUs staff.

Another TD was called back in the 2nd qtr, on an illegal man down field call in the first half, that eventually led a made field goal. It could have easily been a 21-0 halftime lead.
