My take is that the guy on the bus probably was the nail in the coffin, not the loss. This wasn't a Super Bowl parade, it was a pre-game parade that resulted in a loss.

I think the player on the bus sped up the firing by 2-3 weeks but it was coming anyway

This was a "show me" year for Lunsford. He needed to show that he was able to deliver on our expectations to the AD. First year was the evaluation, this year was where results mattered. The Louisiana game was an absolute must win. Unfortunately, the results just weren't there.
