RE: Week 4 Gameday Thoughts
That GT team NIU beat just destroyed a ranked NC. GT is now 2-2 after playing two ranked ACC teams back-to-back. The Wyoming and Michigan teams we played are both undefeated at 4-0. Just goes to show how tough our non-conference schedule was.

Snoopy:

I loved that. However, every freaking year -- UNC is always Over-Rated in Football. It's like one's redheaded step-child dressed in glitter to make a life for herself, but gets tripped down the stairs breaking her nose thanks to some Duke gal spitting on her after too (okay, maybe not?).

Point being: GT IS actually decent this year. They are SO mad at NIU. I love it. :)

The ACC is wide open and so are we. I can't wait.

For sure, this is why I believe teams should not be ranked until at least 5 games into the season. Ranking teams before they have played any games just leads to mostly P5 schools being overly ranked and having an easier path to the playoffs and the big New Year's Day bowls. G5s then have to win a ton of games just to get into the top 12 of the rankings.

Agree look at Iowa state. Think they were vastly overrated and now have 2 losses. It is more of a popularity contest rather than a true top 25 to start season

OMG I could not believe that until I looked up that stats! 0 yards passing and they still won 23 to 10!04-jawdrop

They had 0 passing yards when we played (and we lost in 2 OT) a few years back.

Miami defense gave up two long QB runs for touchdowns but was very stout otherwise. Offense stopped on the one yard line for 3rd and 4th down. We got down early and that's a recipe for disaster against Army, they're a good program so it's not something to be ashamed of but on a macro level it's just not good enough for Martin with his OOC incompetence.

We were too busy mixing it up with SEC teams ( Missouri-twice, Arkansas,Kentucky) also a couple other teams you may heard of (Notre Dame, Miami-twice, BYU-twice)... Michigan State was on the docket for last year but we will get a crack at Sparty in a few years... 04-cheers

Nothing new here. Army has always been a run first and almost always team. If they have more than 50 passing yards per game, that is a bonus.

Army OC: "I'd like to welcome you to our coaching staff."
New Guy: "I am thrilled to be here."
OC: "Our philosophy is straightforward. We start out establishing the run ..."
New Guy: "To set up the pass?"
OC: "No, to set up our other running plays."
