RE: 2022 SEC Schedule To Be Released Tonight
If they add UT/OU last minute it’ll involve changing cross-division games. They can’t go to 9 last minute. Adding OU to the East and Texas to the West means disrupting at least 3 current “permanent” cross-division games... because of the home/away rotation for those games (won’t be any of the 3 big ones).

If they were to add those 2 this late it WILL involve moving Alabama/Auburn to the East and Missouri to the West. Whether “pods” are also added can be determined closer to the ‘22 season start (or even when the ‘23 schedule is put together).

Games Involving Big 6:

Oct. 1: LSU at Auburn
Oct. 8: Texas A&M at Alabama and Auburn at Georgia
Oct. 15: LSU at Florida
Oct. 29: Florida vs. Georgia (Jacksonville)
Nov. 5: Alabama at LSU and Florida at Texas A&M
Nov. 12: Texas A&M at Auburn

Oct. 22 and Nov. 19 are the dud weeks.

Uhm, alternate schedules exist for each of the next 3 years. So the time of actual association remains undetermined.

This is how a BS souffle gets baked out of a cow chip.

And the SEC spoke of alternative schedules from the beginning of this. So they could join anytime between now and the end of the 2024 season.

I'm sure we'll know where they are playing in 2022 by the end of basketball season next year. Then each subsequent year at the same time determinations will be announced. You've got the B1G contract renewal set for 2023 so it will likely be done next year and then the PAC's gets done a year later if they don't push it up. We'll know with those if further expansion happens and how it impacts the B12. If either of those get done early things could still change by Summer of 2022.

Of course, things can and do change. We saw that all last year and schools have changed conferences at the last minute before. It just seems unlikely to me as things stand today and an entry in 2023 makes sense and tracks with what I’ve heard elsewhere
