Indeed.
Texas State is going to SMOKE this team.

What I liked...
1. Westmoreland seems to be coming in to his own. Kid looks good.
2. Drummond and Beydoun are both still as good as advertised.
3. The Line looked good opening holes and with Pass Pro. Only 1 sack allowed
4. Jawon running the ball looks really good.
What I still have questions about.....
1. We still gave up over 500 yards of offense. Yikes. We have A LOT of work to do on this side of the ball. Part of that could be with Turan out and I am hopeful he is back after learning a lesson.
2. Is the QB battle over? Ben looks good but to me still not blowing this open. I would like to still see Preston in some fashion as he is our QB next year
3. I'm with a few of you guys that I'd like to see some swagger and passion on the offensive side. Still not sure what our identity is and that could be because we still split QB reps, but
4. If we cannot open it up in the air come time for MAC play, we will be in trouble. The MAC has a lot of high scoring offenses that will put us in position to need to score quick.
5. What ever happened to throwing to our T.E.'s? I thought this was a position of strength?
Overall I'm pleased and happy for the program. I cant complain with a Win. On to Texas State which I'm telling you guys, is much better than UMass.
I will add to your solid observations.
We only had one sack. We had the same problem in this area last year. Why is it still a problem area?
Shine and LeFleur were back in action at DB.
Daniels had another solid game and Carter Jr had his second interception.
We are going to miss Julien after this year. He helps the defense in so many ways in terms of field position.
There's the great Ryland and the misfiring Ryland. I thought misfiring Ryland was gone after last season but I guess not.
Yeah I like the offense showing some life. Hamilton has been a solid surprise at RB.
Westmoreland shows that CC and staff know how to scout players. Looks like another CC JUCO gem at WR and we've had great success doing that.
On Rush so if you are suspended but no one knows you are suspended are you really suspended?

Is matador a defensive strategy? Just asking for a friend and other EMU fans.

Couple thoughts:
Ryland needs more 'work.'
RE: Rush. Not sure C.C. needs to fly HIS flag by making a big public deal over Rush's suspension, however long it may be. Appears C.C. used it more as a 'teaching moment' than as a news item.
Everyone loved Hamilton when we signed him. We thought the only reason he left was because he was 'wasted' behind a really, really good RB. He can play. BTW, the RB Hamilton played behind, PERCY AGYEI-OBESE, apparently hasn't played a game yet this season for JMU.

We had only 3 penalties for 30 yards which is excellent.
