RE: Is there any evidence that any MWC team would move to the AAC?
the mwc news just came out today so nothng yet in accordance to this report, by the end of the week mwc teams will start giving statements and we'll know...
they'll either be "we arent going to the aac" or "we are going to do whats in the best interest for our institution" which is code that there is a real possibility

if you are looking for past circumstantial evidence

1) boise tried to join the aac 6 months ago
2) boise sued the mwc last year
3) the mwc wants to get rid of the sweetheart deal boise has, which is the only reason Boise chose the mwc
3) sdsu never wanted to leave the aac, and are still partial members of the aac
4) air force has said numerous times that it will one day play in the same conference as the other academies

also aresco has made a note that he has never talked to anyone who didn't approach first.. if that is still true, that is potential evidence

Thanks. I would assume the AAC doesn’t leak the MWC teams unless there was some interest

That would make the additions of Boise State, SDSU, Airforce, and Army to be apparent if so.

If I were Boise I would feel better about the schools in my current conference then I would about the schools left behind in the AAC.

CSU is more likely than others but yes, it is possible.

Evidence of what? There's no evidence that anyone has approached anyone else.

Unless ESPN is willing to finance a best-of-the-rest league, I don’t believe there will be any shuffling between AAC and MWC, in either direction.

I’d say the evidence is the only statement you’ve heard from a MWC official was from a Wyoming person and it wasn’t a no that’s never happening.

Why? Other than UCF, the three defectors have not been so dominant that the remaining American teams are diminished without them. Some American teams have even been to the NCAA’s.

Really? The loss of those programs really doesn't diminish the aac? Maybe we should see what ESPN does with the media contract - if we don't add Boise et al. If football is mostly driving this .... Along with market and fan base -- Every one of those teams have been to New Year's 6 bowl while in the conference. That leaves only Memphis reppin the NY6 AAC there. Then theres the Cincinnati, Orlando, and Houston markets. Hard to replicate that in the remaining AAC. Fine - losing those teams doesn't really mean all that much (to some on this board).

RE: Is there any evidence that any MWC team would move to the AAC?
I think adding six would be best to make up for the three we lost. Even if we drop from 7 to 6 mil it will be emougj to convine MW teams to come if we are pretty much guranteed the acces bowl slot or playoff spot as long as the confencre champ doesnt lose more that one game. It would also serve as a buffer if the big 12 came back for two more after ou/ut leave or if theyblose any.

Th e six in prefferential order would be.

Boise
Air Force
SDSU
FAU or UAB then or Marshall
CSU
a texas school

Exactly.

ESPN can make this happen. Otherwise it is a pipe dream. I would think it would take at least 9 or 10 million a year per team for this to even be within realm of possibility.

Not sure why Boise would touch it with teams leaving. They already joined this ship once when people were jumping overboard and they thought better of it.

If the B12 is an option, they stay put. Honestly, if the B12 doesn’t call they probably have a better sweetheart deal where they are now.

Lots of small time guys trying to get their name out there "with a scoop". Saying the MWC teams turned them down is an easy one to try to throw against the wall to see if it sticks.

We will see, I don't think a national guy tosses this out there if the talks aren't still happening. A deal may not get done, but the talks are happening.
