Observations
Let's see if we can collect useful observations from knowledgeable fans who have now had time to reflect.

Not that I count myself in that group necessarily, but I have a couple:
1. The snap from venter seems to float back to Rocky. He has to kinda reach forward to snatch it out of the air. He then is immediately under the gun. The snap needs to really "snap" back to the QB.
2. Penalties--- 'nuff said. They need to stop!
3. RB's- Waylee has the speed, obviously. However, he doesn't seem to get through the hole very quickly. I don't know if he lacks quickness (doubt that) or if he is thinking before just hitting the hole, or lacks acceleration, or maybe I am wrong. Additional possibility-- he's banged up. You could see a slight limp at times. We are supposed to have a very deep backfield-- It seems Waylee could use a spell.
3. QB and the pocket-- Rocky --- I like him-- solid. But, he can work on sliding around in the pocket-- it seems in traffic - he just wants to take off. That is probably a completely unfair critique. But I put it out there as something to maybe work on.
4. Hands up- in the post game Hammock mentioned the interceptions and balls batted by the Wyoming Dline. He said something about "working on getting those hands down" I don't know what that means. Anyone? Is there a way to get the dline to get there hands down. If it weren't for that, we would have won!

RE: Observations
I think "working on getting those hands down" is referring to the O-line keeping the D-lines hands down.

I believe you try to pancake them or chop them. Put them on their ass anyway you can because often they’ve left their feet jumping up to block pass. Make them reluctant to keep doing it. I’m sure there’s an old O-lineman here who knows for sure.

I know, but how? I didn't know that was a thing.

Excellent. I was saying that in the stands-- time to chop them-- but I don't know what's legal and not. But it looks like Hammock will be on it!

I remember someone explaining that if the defender is sufficiently engaged by the O-linemen it's harder for them to get their hands up but I don't know how they do it. Or if it's legal in every state.

Great call on the terrible snaps from center. I said that to the guy next to me after the first two offensive plays and we counted about a dozen terrible snaps that seemed to float back to Rocky which obviously disrupted timing of plays.

RE: Observations
Rocky also needs to get some air under the passes to get over the taller lines at time, especially when you have a wide open WR with room, doesn't have to be zipped in.

Waylee does wait a bit before hitting the hole, seems to read it, and read it very well for a young, college RB. So I don't have an issue with that, but agree it seems he could use a bit more of a break at times.

The front D 7...after really impressive me at GT, just got owned.

Look...they sleep-walked through the first half...can't do that against a quality opponent. We can be mad, but there's still plenty of talent on this team to have a very good season, just need to get more consistent.

Totally agree with the first two points. Rocky needs to get some touch. Two of the picks bounced off the receivers.

Waylee is a patient runner, and I think that is overall an asset.

You spelled “lack of speed” wrong.

Going to be a lot of bad games for those guys in the secondary if they don’t figure it out. I’ve harped on one player enough, let’s just agree a change needs to be made. If a change isn’t made, and there isn’t a schematic fix to the problem, then I question the defensive coaches ability to interpret what they are seeing in front of them.
