I'll pick West Virginia and Oklahoma State for L's. Baylor-KU is in conference but I'll go with Baylor.
This is a cant miss week across the Big12! Games ranked in order of excitement level are....
Oklahoma vs Nebraska is by far the juiciest game of the week! Frost might actually get the boot after the game if this one gets Ugly.
The Bug Eaters are NOT good but have my doubts about the Land Thieves as well. But as a big rivalry game that has not been played in awhile, it will be fun to watch no matter the outcome. I am going to go with OU in this one, not because they are good, but because Nebraska is just that bad.
Rice at Texas seems rather pedestrian most years, but....Rice gave Piggy all it could handle, cant say the same about the Mad Cows. And I can hardly wait to see what the "MOB" has up their sleeves for this one! Head says UT but my heart is going with the Owls all the way on this one. I am going with my heart and picking Rice for the victory...even though I know it is rather doubtful.
Va Tech at WVU. The Hokies have been impressive so far which is more than you can say for WVU. I am torn on this one because I think VT is not as good as perceived and WVU is better than perceived. I am going to go with the Mountaineers on this one in a low scoring toss up game.
OSU at BSU on the Smurf Turf! Most years I would pick OSU, but the Pokes offense seems rather offensive. They can barely handle bad teams ( An FCS team and a team that lost to an FCS team) at home, how can they handle a pretty good team on the road? I have to go with the Smurf Turfers in this one.
Nevada at K-State. Again, regularly, I would easily pick K State in this one who opened up the year with a dominant win over Standford (Who killed USC yesterday) But when Skylar went out of the game yesterday, things went downhill quickly and they barely escaped with a victory over an FCS team. Much like last year when Skyler went out, their season spiraled out of control. Nevada is suppose to be a pretty good G5 team this year and have already downed Cal. Without Skyler it becomes at best a toss up game. But I am counting on the D to hold serve just enough for the Purlple Kittens to pull out a close one. K State for the win...barely, with fingers crossed.
FIU at Texas Tech. This one is somewhat interesting. Tech looked good ( in the 2nd half) against Houston. But Houston under Holgerson has not looked very good so there is that. FCS Stephen F Austin almost ( and probably should have) gotten the win over Tech in Lubbock last night. And I will add, not only outgained TTU, but put up over 500 yards of offense on the Little Banditos on the plains. Tech's defense is horrible but FIU is, at best, a mediocre G5 team. Tech has some good offensive skill players, but if FIU has even a halfway decent offense than this might turn into a shootout. I will give Tech the nod, because FIU has not been a good team since they moved up to FBS, but I would not put any money on Tech to win, that is for sure.
Baylor at Kansas. Kansas is still Kansas but since it is a conference game, it has some intrigue I guess. Baylor is no world beater this year, but should easily clean the clocks of the woe be gone Jayhawks. Kansas gonna Kansas and lose the game convincingly. Kansas "rushed" the field when the barely beat a mediocre FCS squad and then got pummeled by a G5 team. Same ol Same ol KU. Baylor wins easily.
UNLV at ISU. UNLV is terrible and ISU is not. ISU will be ticked off and will take out their frustrations on a bad UNLV team. This will be ugly to the tune of a 50+ point win for the Clones.
The Cockroaches are off this week.
