Never Forget 9/11/01

Ohio State off to a slow start again. Hopefully they play the 2nd half like they did vs. Minnesota.

Illinois ... when does men's basketball season start? The only thing Illinois is proving this year ... is how bad Nebraska sucks!

This hurts the Big 10's Playoff chances this year.

Ohio State isn't the only team in this conference so it's time for someone else to step up. I didn't pick tOSU to win the BIG this year because I knew there were holes in a lot of spots.

Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, anyone?

schmolik, I can't believe you're worried about an entire conferences chances after one teams loss in week 2? This conference should be and is stronger than that!

Iowa is clearly making a statement at Iowa State.

As for the Big 12, hey it could be worse. Last year they went 0-3 at home to the Sun Belt Conference:)

RE: Open Thread - CFB - 9/11
First off, Kerry Coombs should be in the press box. He gets too emotionally distracted on the sidelines.

I get that elite programs recruit kids that they suspect will not be around for four years, what I don't get is a program that can attract elite offensive talent and simply plug one legend in after another yet defensively they lament how inexperienced they are in the back end. For years OSU got defensive backfield talent that was NFL caliber and ready when their turn came. If your kids aren't ready then it's probably not all on them.

The defense suffers from being too simple presumably because of secondary issues, yet there appears to be confusion. I detected a bit of dissension among the defensive staff and I think Day let Coombs have it after the defense wasn't ready after a timeout.

Coombs belongs in the press box.
