You were absolutely better than us at the time of the big east expansion. That’s not the argument. But if you say so.

now go to the greg ward years, or goggle the best rated aac games...houston obliterated aac tv records in those years not names the army/navy game.. or just use our overall aac average

also simply comping tv viewers is always biased, channles matter ... you should comp ratings on channels, ie the espn2 average etc..

this allowed them to clear the hurdle of too many texas teams and them not wanting to elevate houston. it was printed off an article not to long ago. my guess is they also wanted to PAC12 from also getting a cut of the share. as for houston the B12 is a better fit and the PAC12 is also close to getting poached soon so i dont see a need to move.

Houston was chosen over Memphis because of Texas politics. End of story. Happens with the Texas schools every time. Wouldn’t be surprised if it also results in an smu invite. If TCU wasn’t already there I would say it would be 100%. Probably the only thing that keeps them out.

Houston was chosen because it has invested 300 million dollars in new sporting infrastructure. Houston President is highly respected ( she 's on the board of Governors of the NCAA) among her peers for the work she has done at the University. Houston in the 8th largest tv market in the country. Texas politics kept Houston out of the B12. And for time it seem it might play a part in keeping us out again, based on the fears of the other Texas B12 schools about Houston being in one of the top HS talent areas in the country recruiting wise, they saw what happened in the old SWC when Houston came in and dominated the conference in the first 3 of 4 in conference play. They don't want a replay of that scenario again. Also behind the scenes ESPN and the consultant they brought in Oliver Luck I'm sure had something to do with Houston being invited to the B12, probably talked dollar sense to them, in making their decision to invite Houston. Probability of the PAC possibly inviting Houston and TCU to the PAC had something to do with Houston being invited, which would have destabilized the conference further I believe a lot of variables played their part in Houston being invited.

Comparing Houston metrics to Memphis results in Houston being behind on almost every list. I’m glad you got in. You guys have potential and I like Houston. You have the TV market on us but you don’t have the engagement even with that market. The actual eyeballs on TVs show that.
One thing we learned from our old beloved Coach Yeoman use to sa, " he said paddle your own canoe" don't worry about others and what there doing. That's what we do at UH we paddle our own canoe. It's worked pretty well for us

you have the same number of championships and same number of NY6 bowls, and 1 less ny6 bowl win, and no final fours. You havent even made the tournament in like 7 years and have pathetic academics and no facilities. lmao. memphis is no where close.

Only you are mentioning basketball. We know that football is what matters. You have had 1 good Season since being in the aac. Your facilities comment is a damn joke lol. Basketball facilities Houston isn’t even in the same stratosphere as Memphis. You have a slight edge on football facilities but not much. Academics? Lol you aren’t high enough over us to act like that made any bit of difference.

Then why is Memphis not in the b12?? Same number of football championships, same number of ny6 bowls and we actually won our bowl game, 1000x more basketball success. Liberty bowl is a dump, and UH just doesnt have "slight" edge. UH was R1 like a decade ago and memphis still not there. UH actually owns facilities, where as Memphis rents them. You basically have no facilities

Memphis is supposedly R1 possibly by December. Again currently you are Barely above us. If you were an AAU school then maybe you would have something. Like I said b12 Texas politics. I will be happy to put that spanking on Houston again this year.

i seriously bet money that isnt true...

10 years would include our 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2016 seasons....

especially using your metholody...using simple logic you are only up 400k (1.5mil to 1.1mil) in the worst 4 year run in 15years for UH against the best 4 years in Memphis history.. but adding the great years of Houston and the bad years of memphis .... youd bet memphis would still be on top?
the highest rated aac games were houston from 2015 and 2016
the highest rated houston market game in like a decade was houston oklahoma in 16 (the highest ever national rated aac game too- again not counting army/navy)

[Image: CzGfbubXUAEBAVi?format=jpg&name=900x900]

the 2016 numbers were shattering.. but the 2015 numbers are even more fascinating .. Houston vs temple ..yes, aac temple.. outdrew 12 out 13 games of texas and texas a&m playing in power conferences playing blueblood teams

This seems like the PAC trying to change the headlines bc their conference has been dumped on a lot

my bet is no more realignment for 5-8 years. Ofcourse nerds will talk about it nonstop

Idk, the timing of this along with the source makes me believe TCU leaked this. I wonder how long Engel was sitting on this info. Also interesting that UH decided to put out the info that the Big 12 initially wanted to pass on UH. I’m not going to read too much into all of this but I’m definitely taking a mental note of these two articles that were put out the day after the big announcement.

I don't believe this story. It originated as an article in the Fort Worth Star
Telegram. It's just an attempt at "buttering up" TCU supporters. If anyone can identify any support for this story speak.

PAC schools without exception have Carnegie R1 classification. TCU is R2. TCU would have to change its name before the PAC would consider it.

If UH had a doppelganger in the DFW the PAC would have already invited them. There is no R1 school in the DFA area. Texas Tech is 345 miles from Dallas. OSU is 231 miles from Dallas. TCU, Texas Tech, and OSU are not upwardly mobile.
