Also interesting that UH decided to put out the info that the Big 12 initially wanted to pass on UH. I’m not going to read too much into all of this but I’m definitely taking a mental note of these two articles that were put out the day after the big announcement.

I’m with you... I didn’t put much stock in this PAC Houston, TCU interest but here not at all surprised.

That said, The PAC needs to be aggressive imo and diving into the two primary Texas largest tv markets can absolutely be extremely beneficial $$$.

I like to see SMU in the Big12 but if Houston to The PAC materializes here hope SMU is targeted along with Houston.

The only Texas teams worth adding are Texas or A&M.

Telegram. It's just an attempt at "buttering up" TCU supporters. If anyone can identify any support for this story speak.

PAC schools without exception have Carnegie R1 classification. TCU is R2. TCU would have to change its name before the PAC would consider it.

If UH had a doppelganger in the DFW the PAC would have already invited them. There is no R1 school in the DFA area. Texas Tech is 345 miles from Dallas. OSU is 231 miles from Dallas. TCU, Texas Tech, and OSU are not upwardly mobile.

I’ll put money on PAC 12 seriously looking at Houston and tcu

They will get 2 teams in the central time zone eventually

Why don’t this greedy bastards just go to 4-16 now and spare everyone all of this bullshiite.

Houston is a long way from Oregon and Washington. It is all so asinine.

FB/BB-only conference invitations are not a real thing. This means this whole scenario was not real. Someone has a very active imagination.

Apparently this rumor is not true. Quote from the Pac12 commissioner.

With SEC going to 16. The PAC-12 really should have gone to 16 with UNLV, Texas Tech, TCU and Houston

Well, we can always say we were assured an invite if it would have happened even with an abundance of evidence saying contrary. 07-coffee3

RE: Pac12 was close to inviting TCU and Houston
Here's a YouTube of this Star Telegram Reporter on Houston/TCU story he broke. My view he's speculating no cited sources or anything. Just him saying I think connecting the dots, so on and so forth. Sounds like someone told him something at TCU about Houston
having a inside track to the PAC12, i.e.., Jon Wilner at the Mercury News who reports all things PAC12 I believe someone ask this guy to write a story saying the PAC wanted both Houston/TCU. If you read Jon Wilner piece said Houston turned up as the clear no. 1 choice period as if they were to expand they were looking a TCU/KU

I believe a split of the top 64 teams from the NCAA is coming. And maybe by 2025. Definitely by the end of the decade.

Not gonna happen. Ppl have been saying this for how long? Well it hasn’t happened. No way they leave out the AAC and MWC. Not to mention the strong programs in other leagues. Two other items- the lower level P5 teams have to have someone to play. If not they will lose 75% of their games every year. Also- the P5 are not going to leave the academies out of the top level of CFB. That’s why it’s key for the AAC to go after AFA and Army.
