You might do the best job I've ever seen on this board (and I've been reading it for about 10 years) of not pimping your school.
Full props.
I appreciate that.
I try to be realistic with my schools. Boise’s best hope is the PAC which may come to fruition if the B1G ever raids the PAC. Outside of that, joining any “best of the rest cross-country” conference is risky for a school that is such an outlier in geography and academics. The most obvious risk is the new conference getting poached and Boise being left in a conference that looks geographically horrific with nowhere to go after burning bridges with the MWC.
I wish the MWC was more proactive in growing into the CST with Rice, SMU, Tulane, Tulsa, and Wichita St (non-football). Not that those schools would ever want to join but it would help the conference’s viewership, academic profile, and basketball - and maybe football.
I feel Boise will have a strong shot at a Big 12 invite and that it could be hugely helpful to BSU and the City of Boise. You have earned it.

RE: Boise and Memphis still on Big 12 radar?
13.Boise State, the most valuable tv brand left out of the G5 for football which is what the Big 12 is looking for tv contracts.
14.Memphis is growing stronger in football, but they have the basketball brand.
15.Temple is strong in basketball, but football is downsliding again.
16.San Diego State another stronger tv ratings.
17.Colorado State for basketball
18.North Dakota State have the football brand.
I son't see ECU, SMU, Rice, Tulane or USF to get in.
I could see tha BIG 10 and SEC to start raiding the ACC and the PAC 12 which could impact the PAC 12, ACC and Big 12 to become regional.

Lot of WVU to the ACC chatter picked up today in WVU circles. A LOT. Supposedly WVU may be gone by '23.
If that is indeed true then you would almost have to backfill that spot with Memphis for UC's sake.

Personally, I agree USF is the better add, BUT I can see Boise.
You can’t just say what they’ve done in the past doesn’t matter. The B12 has a perception problem going forward. Boise helps that, USF not only doesn’t but it may hurt as they’ve been bad in football lately.
Boise as a city is growing rapidly though USF is a better market. Does the B12 need USF now that they have UCF? Redundant/discount UCF vs a new market? I’d think USF would be a positive for Oly sports, but Boise is similar with BYU.
I agree that no one should discount Boise State.
To the extent that anyone has an identifiable football brand in the G5 that has any material TV value at this point, it's them.
The Big 12 could also argue that they have the 2 most valuable schools that aren't located in the Eastern/Central Time Zones and aren't in the Pac-12 with BYU and Boise State. That gives the league a late night window during most weeks of the season to sell as a part of their TV packages. (I think that this is much more meaningful for the Big 12 compared to, say, the Pac-12 wanting random Central Time Zone teams.)
Now, that's not to say that I really think that the Big 12 will expand further at the end, but in the event that they do, then Boise State would be very high (if not the top) of the list.
Regarding late night Saturday games :....Is there a Law to prevent a ETZ or CTZ schools from starting a game 1 or 2 hours latter for TV ?.....SATURDAYS NIGHT ALRIGHT FOR FIGHTING----ROLLING STONES....More time for tailgating !!!

Some ready made pods in that case

You can't have an odd number of conference games when there is an odd number of conference members.

Would the ACC need a 16th team? With the upcoming SEC expansion and the Covid-year division-less experience, I believe the CCG rules will be re-written within the next year or two. A conference may choose to pair division winners in the CCG, but there's nothing magical about a round-robin schedule or a CCG consisting only of division winners.
Then, the ACC could move forward with a 15-team alignment, just like they did in 2020 with Notre Dame.

RE: Boise and Memphis still on Big 12 radar?
I've felt UC WVU to the ACC to keep the Big 12 out of that footprint. There is no one else the Big 12 can add in that region that is viable. It would be more of a preemptive expansion than not for the ACC, despite the fact those schools have already committed to the Big 12. I mean the ACC could just make them a better offer and they shouldn't have a problem "applying" for that "other job".
I still feel it will happen sooner than later, and USF/Memphis/Boise St can backfill in the Big 12. I don't feel this is a likely scenario especially given the aggressive timeline, but certainly a possibility for the next cycle beyond the immediate backfilling that has yet to take place.

All schools selected were R1 research institutions.
Memphis is R2 but has applied for R1 approval. R1 candidates are announced in December and then approvals are publicized in January. This has been a major goal for us. Our administration believes our R1 will be granted. I think that will make a difference to some of the schools.
EDIT TO ADD: USF is R1. Boise is R2.

RE: Boise and Memphis still on Big 12 radar?
I would love to get WVU in the ACC. I do agree there would have to be the rule to eliminate divisions. In addition, with the ACC, B10 and PAC 12 shutting down playoff expansions, it could be the incentive needed to get ND to finally join a conference. Which I still think will never happen in my lifetime.

I don't disagree. This isn't coming from Twitter people like the Dude or message board posters.
It had been quiet for weeks regarding WVU and expansion and today people I trust completely started using some pretty strong language in regards to WVU and the ACC. I had 3 different people mention WVU being gone by '23 with an announcement coming before the end of the year.
I've heard that ND is going to be forced into a conference(ACC) when playoff expansion comes up for discussion shortly.
I've also heard that WVU and Ok St have become very close since the departure of OU/UT. I have a hard time seeing it personally but they may be looking at the Big 12 like WVU looked at the Big East after the departure of Pitt and may want to give the ACC a try. Again, take that part with a grain of salt.
Feel free to come back and mock me if no announcement is made before the end of the year. It will be well deserved.

No mocking here. Maybe WVU can get into the ACC on its own merits. Maybe the ACC thinks adding, say, Kansas and WVU would be beneficial. I wouldn’t bet on that happening, but that’s one of the few (and maybe only) moves that I could where any Big 12 teams move to another power conference.
However, one thing that no one anywhere should ever believe is thinking that Notre Dame is going to be “forced into a conference” whether it’s through a playoff change or something else. If any expansion plan is contingent on ND dropping independence, then it’s 1000% B.S. and should be ignored. We should all have learned this by now (particularly on this board): people who know Domers know that independence isn’t just about football.
