B12 future scheduling?
I prefer 2 divisions where you pay 8 games with 5 in division and half of other division each year. Then 4 OOC.
If B12 keeps playing 9 Conference games.
Year 1 - 4 home, 5 road
Year 2 - 5 home, 4 road
If we start play in 2023 we need to drop one of:
EKU
@ PITT
MIAMI
@ NCS
Seems in 2026 we need to drop one of:
Boston College
at Ohio
vs Miami @PBS
WKU
Other years seem to have 3 or less scheduled.

We all know the path of least resistance to dropping an OOC game each year.........

I prefer 8 games for flexibility but if they stick with 9, you almost have to make Miami an annual buy game at Nippert.
Then you work with you got already on the schedule, in my view the road at Ohio, Western Michigan, and Western Kentucky need a long look. Not a huge fan of the buy game next year at Arkansas or the Boise series either.

We still need the cash though, so I’m all for the Arkansas game as long as it’s the last one-off roadie we ever schedule. It will take at least 5 years of Big 12 money before our finances catch up with the Oklahoma States and West Virginias of the world. Plus it’s a winnable game, even with all the roster turnover we will experience. I’m really optimistic about 2023 and beyond, but next year feels like an 8-4/9-3 type of season.
As for the G5 road games, as long as we can get rid of them without paying much, I’m all for nixing them. Might need to keep the Ohio and Miami ones since we’ve already completed part of the series. WKU and WMU should be easier to get out of. BYU has a bunch of P5 games they will need to get out of, so maybe we can pick up a couple of those in place of MAC and C-USA games.

Another big factor is our debt payments.
According to this article, the Nippert debt is a 20 year bond. By my rough calculation that's somewhere around $6 million a year (give or take a million based on interest rates in 2014).
Construction started in 2014, so by 2035 we will have an extra $6 million/year.
If the basketball renovation was a similar payment schedule, then multiply that by 2 in 2038.
But that's a long way off.

Just heard Opey in the press conference say that 8 or 9 was unknown.
