RE: BYUtv
ESPN and Byu tv are used to working together already, So I don't see any huge problems there.

RE: BYUtv
One of the things the LHN occasionally did was a show called The Beat, where Lowell Galindo would go around the conference and interview the beat reporters for each of the Big 12 schools. It wasn't a regular show, just sort of a recurring show done every month or so. That was the best thing the LHN ever did for the Big 12 and they weren't committed to it; I guess they felt that the Big 12 might deserve a little coverage every now and then. BYUtv could do that but make it weekly (or at least more regularly). They could also pick up conference tourneys in the non-revenue sports; they could even simulcast Big 12 Weekly - an ESPN show with Dusty Dvorak. They could certainly cover Big 12 media Days in football and basketball. There's a lot of things they could do - it's now a resource and should be taken advantage of.

Today's show is mostly focused on BYU's W over Utah - they've mentioned the Big 12 invite in a celebratory fashion but haven't really covered it much (yet).

Well, after the first half hour of reveling in the Utah W, they did indeed go back to the Big 12. Trevor Matich said that the Big 12 will definitely remain a P5 conference and then Steve Young nearly teared up several times with the whole Big 12 expansion decision. Saying it was the most validating experience on all of BYU's athletic history, talking about how BYU was living on the edge with independence and how this would provide stability and benefit recruiting and it was Friday all over again. They are still really really really into it...

They finally had time for Dennis Pitta today (because Jarom wasn't there). He had some good things to say about the Big 12 but he couldn't pronounce the word "legitimacy" at all. He's the winningiest TE in BYU history and he's undefeated as a flag bearer.

For a link to the BYU Sports Nation show on the Big 12: https://www.byutv.org/player/9ace1148-76...the-big-12

It starts with a Deep Blue feature (spotlight on a BYU athlete) and the show actually starts at about the 6:18 mark.

I definitely could see some kind of Big 12 show appearing on the network. At a minimum, they would have appearances by coaches or media members from each school around when upcoming games are happening (which they regularly do for football and basketball).

One thing that will be interesting to see is if the league has some normally untelevised games appear on BYUtv. With the WCC, BYUtv was picking up basketball tournament games (men's and women's) that were not televised on ESPN channels. They also picked up other sports on occasion. I'd love to get more eyes on more sports if possible.

In the "not a good sign" department, BYUtv is already talking about a 12-0 season and a CFP appearance and whining about not being ranked higher. Luckily, that shouldn't matter against USF, but it might at Logan to play Utah State the following week (USU has switched the position of the benches so the BYU players will be directly in front of the USU student section).

I was thrilled to see BYU crack the top-20, let alone the top-15. The BYUtv guys are whiny homers. No complaints from me on our current ranking....though I am looking ahead to that stretch of USU, Boise State, and Baylor!

I don't think BYU will cover this week against USF...I predict a fairly pedestrian win that will be closer than most fans expect and a somewhat boring game.

USU is a rivalry in every sense of the word. They play hard and nasty against BYU. I just want to get out of their with the W and no season-ending injuries (they ended Taysom Hill's season TWICE). I hope BYU absolutely curb stomps them early and has the third string in for the second half.

Spencer and Jarom backed off a little today - now, they're just speculating on whether BYU has the depth to win 10 games and whether W's over Pac12 teams are really all that impressive. They've returned to the realm of reality after all the pie-in-the-sky stuff yesterday.

Fan is short for fanatic.

Here is a current quote from the USU fan board where they were talking about how many BYU fans would be in their stadium (upset they don't sell out to keep BYU fans at home):
"If you’re reading this, and you feel anything other than hate towards BYU- literally go f*ck yourself. I hate you and hope the worst for you always."

I'm sure this guy is one of their least well adjusted fans, but you get the idea.
