I hope they save a spot for a big time transfer at QB.

We were talking about this at the game today. The staff must bring in an experienced transfer for competition after this season.

Give the kid a chance, It's his 2nd actual game action and you're ready to write him off. We have a great QB coach and they have almost 2 years to develop him.

So many people said the same things about Dez after yr 1 & 2 and look at him now

This. First post, but I came to echo this point. Some are already writing off Prater after he plays what maybe 3 quarters of football. I got faith in Gino and his ability to develop.

Not writing him off, concerned about his passing.

I don't think we have looked that flat since Fickell's first year.

It's a tough game to get up for, especially sandwiched between your home opener, and Indiana.

I was thinking of the game at USF 2 years ago, when we pulled one out on a last second FG.

I understand why we schedule them but I loathe these FCS games.

If we can get all home and home games with other p5 teams OR start getting 2 for 1s or better with g5 teams we should cancel. As long as we're playing a 1 off or 2 we need them.

Assuming the Big 12 stays with a 9-game schedule (which I think they will), I think I'd like our schedule to be: 1 lower-tier G5 buy game (probably MAC or a regional C-USA opponent like Marshall/WKU) and 2 home-and-homes with P5 or upper-tier G5 schools (Memphis, SMU, Boise, San Diego State, etc.). Also fine with one-off neutral site games against P5 opponents since those seem to be all the rage these days. I doubt Alabama or OSU is going to schedule us home-and-home, but I think we could realistically schedule teams like Michigan State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, etc. Could probably even get someone like Penn State, as they've recently played at Temple. And if we keep rising in the Big 12, eventually the big boys will at least be willing to play us on a neutral field.

Both the SEC and b10 require one of their ooc games to be against p5 competition. We are a really good option for some SEC and most b10 teams if you want an accessible home and home against a quality opponent.

The first half vs Army last year was a hot mess, too.

RE: Murray State
It’s a money grab and a cheap buy game. Mostly just an exhibition. When the NCAA has its convention, I’d personally like to see them say you can’t count these games towards bowl eligibility going forward.

Without those buy games a lot of FCS teams would fold.

RE: Murray State
And if you notice most of our games against FCS teams, are schools within driving distance of UC, thus cutting down on the payout and saving the university a boatload of money. (Eastern KY, Austin Peay, Murray State, Alabama A&M)

And all G5's need to take buy games. UC has ND, Arkansas next year,

I am no expert. I will leave the evaluation to Fickell. But I believe Prater is going to be a big star at UC before he graduates.
