Board of Trustees meeting - 9/13
I've been frequently checking for the agenda to be released for the September Board of Trustees because, frankly, it's been an awful long time since an update has been provided to the board regarding athletics. Today, it was finally released and it looks like athletics will be discussed!
It's hard telling how far in depth they'll go and I'll surely provide an update after the meeting.. but wanted to give the heads up in case anyone else is bored/curious enough to join in on the virtual meeting next week.

Not a lot discussed by the athletic department.. primarily just an update on conference affiliation.
Currently, the school is conducting a benchmark on schools in the MEAC, Summit, and Horizon.
They’re vying for full membership in either the MEAC or Horizon, and expect to hear from the MEAC within the next couple months.
Currently, they have an offer of their men’s and women’s tennis teams joining the Horizon as an affiliate 22-23 and 23-24 years. No fee and full tennis voting rights.
Apparently, the OVC isn’t on the table as it wasn’t mentioned.

That's too bad about the OVC.
With WIU likely coming on board, they would fit in nicely with 3 other state school in that conference. Plus Chicago St sponsors soccer, and with football being on the edge, sponsoring soccer for the OVC would give it some added stability.
