Totally agree. I really hope that final drive and 2 pt conversion really showed Hammock and the offensive coaches that they can trust these guys and be more aggressive, regardless of time/score, in the future. You hear coaches say all the time that you never truly know who/what your team is until after the first game, so maybe they were overly cautious or nervous with it being on opening game, on the road, vs ACC, first crowd in 2 years, etc, etc... but they KNOW who they have now, and should unleash it going forward.

Sometimes that first win after losing 6 straight is tough and mental. It’s the momentum that the program needs to turn things around.

Great point!

The confidence Coach Hammock showed in his very young team is going to payoff big on this team. Perfect example of team building!

You don't build a team by doing a fake punt on your own 10 yardline in the second quarter against a P5 team

I'm sure it seemed like a good idea at the time. LOL

When Rod gets fired from Temple he could come back and be our special teams coach. We blocked a lot of punts/kicks while he was here.

At best he could be Victor E Huskie. Imagine Victor just moping around. Not interacting with anyone. Slouched in a chair the entire game.

And if you throw a football to him he just takes a knee.

I mean looking at Rod’s contract…he’s going to be fine. If he wants to work again he can be an OL coach somewhere…FCS or something.

Wish someone would pay me millions to be terrible at my job…or not work at all.

I respect Rod for having won a MAC title. I think he’s a bad football coach, but he’s also a champion. Probably means I was too hard on him.

I’m glad he’s gone, but have to give him props.

Honestly though, who didn’t see this coming at Temple!?!?! Shoot as soon as they signed him I remember Temple fans being told they ****** up.

Its funny, I remember Temple fans being indignant at our "good riddance" mentality when we handed Carey over to them.

RE: FIRE THOMAS HAMMOCK!!!
I never had a problem with Carey except for the totally embarrassing bowl game results (other than the Orange Bowl). And of course, he never recruited a good QB (or never played one, at least). I do think the team was regressing though, notwithstanding his last MACC win against Buffalo.

RE: FIRE THOMAS HAMMOCK!!!
Carey needed that MACC to launch himself out of DeKalb before someone else yelled "... and we have liftoff!" That's why he abandoned his well-known (and well-worn) reserve. Ironically, Carey NOT being Carey let the team win.
