Yes because saying they’re on the hot seat is clearly trolling after they lose to FCS teams, get shutout, and get blown out by sun belt teams.

Houston is not on the hot seat for the loss to App, who is likely a Top 30 team.

Scott is not on the hot seat for losing by 45 at this point in his tenure, either.

I don’t even know who coaches USF and Temple anymore.

Holgs will be fine. They have a really favorable schedule.

Montgomery will survive on the basis of that fluke of a year last year.

Houston...ECU may have a problem.

This is a really dumb take. I would say that Houston would be on the hot seat if this were year 4 but in year three, after and during a pandemic… with a very young, rebuilt roster?

App kicked our ass, no doubt. However, no one with a brain is suggesting that Houston be fired over it. At the very least let’s make it to the end of the season before we make any value judgements.

If year 3 looks like the last 2, why wait for a 4th? Find the right guy now or you just waste another year. Unless you can’t afford a buyout.

The students on campus and other ECU boards are starting to get ready to bring out the pitchforks.

Luke Fickell is coaching Temple, and Gus Malzahn is coaching USF, does that jog your memory... I really want to help.

What Rod Carey lacks in competence he makes up for by being expensive. Don’t laugh. Were he cheap Temple would probably extend his contract.

Holgs is fine---IF he wins this season---and he probably needs to win fairly big. I dont think eeking out a 6-6 bowl qualification vs this fairly accommodating schedule will get it done. His buy out becomes relatively reasonable this year. The buyout drops to 60% of the final two years remaining on his deal (about 4.8 million). However---if Dana wins the conference this year---he gets the last two years fully guaranteed.

I think Holgs is safe as long as he has that ridiculous buy-out.

I don't know what Rod Carey's terms are in his contract, but I'd say that his chances look dim at this point.

Houston at ECU (just to be clear as mud) may find his seat heating up at ECU if they don't show improvement over the season. But he's fine this season.

Jeff Scott at USF... I don't know how close he is to being fired. He's been a disaster thus far, but 2020 was a strange year for everyone but USF really is dreadful right now.

Carey has to go. Every blowout loss sets Temple back and we have never had a margin of error. As it is, the new coach will need years to get us to bowl eligibility.*

*is bowl eligibility still a thing? Trying to keep up…

Temple should be competing for the championship every year. Yeh..I agree with you. Fire Carey.
