RE: Wear black to IU, red to ND
After yesterday's dismal showing against Iowa, black may be the dominant color in Bloomington.

The IU football fan is nothing compared to the IU basketball fan.

Right now they've shifted into "same old IU football" mode. They'll still show up, but they wont be nearly as jacked as they would if they were undefeated too.

My buddy who is an IU alum picked us up some tickets. I told him they better not give me too much crap when I have my UC gear on sitting in a section full of IU alum/fans. He said "We haven't earned that right in football yet". 03-lmfao

I picked up two tickets friday for over 100.00 a piece. Seems a little high, and maybe I should have waited a week, but they seem to be really good seats.

For those planning on partying in Bloomington next weekend, be aware that there is an indoor mask mandate in Monroe County. Still trying to discern whether that also entails reduced capacity or any other restrictions. Pinging a friend in B’ton to get a better feel for the situation

The main drag in Bloomington - Kirkwood Avenue - is closed to vehicle traffic between campus and Courthouse Square. Apparently the street is set up for outdoor dining. Some establishments have set up tents. I’m told there is no indoor capacity restriction due to Covid

RE: Wear black to IU, red to ND
I am concerned about the drive in Saturday morning.

I will be coming from Dayton, so I-70 all the way to Indy before heading south.

I went to Indy Wednesday night for the GnFnR concert and there were multiple areas of construction on I-70 cutting traffic down to one lane.

What should have been a 2hr drive turned in to a 3 1/2hr drive!

Bloomington "should" be a 3 hour drive for me.

Add in the I-70 BS, and a large crowd headed to the same small place that I am heading, and I worry that even leaving at 0700hrs may not be early enough to get myself and my father (using a scooter) to our seats by kickoff.

you should also be aware of 37 from indy to b’ton. converting it to an interstate, and i’ve been told by locals it’s a major cluster in Martinsville. I originally booked a hotel near the indy airport friday night and planned on driving an alternate rural route south. but i found a room in columbus, in, for friday night.

i’m expecting 46 coming from columbus indiana to be a hot mess as well

your concerns are well-founded

I have ND tickets. How do you think Biden's statement yesterday will affect this game? I'm vaxed but my children are not. You think we will need to show proof of vax or negative test?

No one enforces mask mandates while you're eating/drinking.

Coming from Cincinnati, I plan on taking US50 Through Versailes & North Vernon, and then IN 446 which will take you right into Bloomington.

Is 446 up from Rt.50 a pretty good route? Triple digit roads in Indiana can often be goat paths....

Lol, I took Dad out to a festival at Mom’s family’s ancestral church last month in Indiana, then took a random ride through the nearby countryside. Ended up on some gravel road that required driving through a large creekbed and then again. Had to turn around as I didn’t want to risk getting stuck.

I’m sure I heard banjos.

Many, many, many years ago - I was probably three - Mom, my aunt, two young brothers and two cousins headed down to my uncle’s cabin at lake cumberland. i always wondered how a priest could afford his own cabin. and a mercedes. Anyway, it was very dark, we were lost, and for directions my aunt stopped at this old store on an old road. the store’s format reminds me of the now-closed Dutch’s in Hyde Park, except it was hillbilly. . One of the men there offered to guide us to the cabin. In the middle of this dark, isolated road, the hillbilly man stops, gets out of his car, and heads to our car. Mom and aunt in total panic. i remember thinking how exciting it was. mom pulls out her gun and has it ready. I’m sure Mom and my aunt heard banjos.

i don’t remember why he stopped, i just remember the pandemonium.

This has nothing to do with what shirt to wear to the game, but we safely made it to the cabin and the rest of the family.

I bought two light colored UC t-shirts today. Game-time temps in the 80’s.

You can find gravel roads running through active, running water creek beds within the 275 loop, less than 10 miles from downtown Cincinnati, so it's not that unheard of

So that explains why Waze is taking me past 37 on the 465 Loop over to 67.
Then down to Martinsville to hit 69 to Bloomington.

Does anyone have enough familiarity to comment on that route for someone like me who is coming from north of I-70?
