The walk would have been faster. I was stuck on an overcrowded, small bus without air conditioning.

The only reason I did not walk is because I was with someone who was not physically able - and a second person who still has breathing issues from covid.

RE: Wear black to IU, red to ND
I haven't been to a ND game in 7 years, but I used to go fairly frequently. Here's my advice on getting there & parking:

There are lots that charge ridiculous amounts to "park and ride" to Notre Dame games. I never used them, but they don't make any sense to me to even try. There is abundant free street parking south of campus. It's easy to find parking between Howard St and campus. It can be up to a 3/4 mile walk, but it's free and it's a pretty safe neighborhood (at least by my standards, but then again I went to undergrad in East Cleveland).

If you're driving up from Cincy, Google will take you straight up Route 31 all the way to campus and then a right on Angela Blvd. However, traffic that far north on 31 is horrendous on game day due to people coming South on 31 from I-80 & cops controlling the light timing.

Instead, take Route 31 North to downtown South Bend and go right on Lasalle or Colfax while in downtown. Then take a left on Hill Street or Eddy Street. Be sure to turn off onto a side street before you get too close to campus because the whole length of Angela Blvd is a mess on gameday.

The last 3 times I went to Notre Dame games, I followed this advice and I was parked within 5 minutes of leaving downtown. And was at the stadium 15-20 minutes later.
