RE: The B1G/PAC/ACC Alliance Update
$ hungry universities pushing for this hiding behind current political narratives and [/align]fairness. Academia has no real skin in the game so look for this to underwhelming whatever it turns out to be in the end.

Look, the B1G/PAC12/ACC (plus Notre Dame) have essentially created a non-conference scheduling alliance. 2 Non-conference games per year against the other 2 conferences.
Initially, this has no effect. Long-term, this starves the SEC from options for non-conference scheduling. THIS is where the SBC can approach the SEC with STRENGTH, and sell the idea of each SEC school schedules one SBC non-conference each year and other considerations.
This type of alliance can also help the SEC in it's bid to expand the playoffs as it would give them a supporting voice/vote (in exchange for the games).
Does the Sun Belt Conference take a position of STRENGTH or WEAKNESS?
The SEC doesn't have a reason to give a damn about this to be honest.
I'm sorry but you must be unaware of the fact the SEC & SBC have had an official (literally) alliance for years? The two conferences share the same officiating crews so obviously, when the SBC has a mutually beneficial idea, the SEC at least will lend an ear.

That handshake isn’t even cold yet, and USC has agreed to play LSU in 2024 in Las Vegas. So much for the alliance shutting out the SEC.
