2021 Season Game 6: UAB (4-1) vs. Florida Atlantic
With just shy of 80% the votes, UAB knocks off Liberty to start a new streak at Protective Stadium.

Game six brings in a team a little bit too late. Kiffin still at FAU would have been a hell of a draw for UAB but whatever. I'm personally a big fan of Willie and am excited to see what he does this season. Their defense kept them in almost every game, but their offense certainly put them into tough situations. I think UAB takes this one in a very low scoring game, something like 17-14 or 14-10.

UAB
Prior Year Record: 6-3
2020 Team Talent Rank: #92
2021 Recruiting Rank: #115
Scoring Offense: 28.4 PPG/#65
Scoring Defense: 21.4 PPG/#26
2021 FPI: #69

Florida Atlantic
Prior Year Record: 5-4
2020 Team Talent Rank: #71
2021 Recruiting Rank: #84
Scoring Offense: 18.9 PPG / #115
Scoring Defense: 17.4 PPG / #10
2021 FPI: #84

FAU has 21 starters returning. They picked up some transfer QBs that could improve their offense. I am not sold on the coaching staff but you know talent isn't a problem. FAU has speed galore on both sides of the ball. In fact, I think FAU will be the best team in the East this year -- better than Marshall.

This will be a tight game. Coming right after Liberty and the hype of the stadium opener, it falls in a tough spot on the schedule. I actually think there's a greater chance to lose this one than the Liberty game.

I picked 3 losses for this season. This is the last one.

I think while FAU mayve struggled on offense last year, that they’ll have the athletes at skill positions to get them over the hump vs our defense.

I don’t feel like we have as good of talent at skill positions and they just happen to have had a better defense. We’ll see.

Beyond this, I have us winning out and facing them or Marshall in a rematch at protective stadium.

I think it really depends on where we are at in the season. If we are 4-1, I think we will be battle tested enough to win this. If we are 3-2 or 2-3, I think we might take another L here. These games later in the season get trickier to predict because there are more and more unknown factors.
