I would say a shot that teaches your immune system to fight off a disease like these do is a vaccine. What was your definition?

No. You're ignoring the context of that statement and the changing understanding of the virus over time. Science is just an understanding of the data points at that time, but is always open to re-evaluating when new data is discovered. I am married to a cancer researcher and have heard many rants about people repeating that statement about masks over the last year.

Some people are just doing what they are told. No wonder they are all scared, the information just keeps changing. It most suck to be them.

They (and others) made those comments based on mask studies. Outside of the surgical masks (N95), cloth masks have been shown to be ineffective.
Then, they changed their tune when this thing became a political football.
But sure, if you want to slap on that piece of cloth from Wal-Mart or that Aunt Suzie made on her sewing machine and think you are protected, be my guest.

I know this might seem hard to comprehend but the country who leads the world in vaccination % by population also leads the world in new daily covid cases.
You guys run and line up. Dont forget booster 2 , 3 , 4 , 5, 6 ,7 ,8, 9, 10 either.
It took 4 polio shots before it was eradicated.
Most of you are not old enough to remember the iron lung wards or having a classmate not return to school from over the weekend or not being allowed to play with certain friends.

Cloth masks do what they are designed to do.
They are not designed to keep you from catching anything.
Viruses cannot live outside the host for an extended period of time unless they are suspended in fluids.
Every time we breathe, speak, sneeze, or cough we expel moisture from our bodies.
It is this moisture that carries the virus.
The masks prevent the expulsion of moisture outward so they keep the virus in place.
Remember Drs do not wear a mask in surgery because they fear catching anything from the patient.
They wear it so THEY do not infect the patient with their germs.

So many on the right side of the isle decided to fight back the same way and made it an ultra political issue.
We all need to stop playing politics with this thing.
If we had the internet in 1941 we most likely would be speaking Deutch right now.
This is a health issue and some 600,000 Americans are no longer with us because of it.
Just remember a large number of these kook theories come from the same crowd that used to turn into Art Bell and talk about their alien abduction.
So there’s a conspiracy think tank for kooks. This explains a lot.

So enough with the kook conspiracy theories folks, GET YOUR DAMN SHOTS ALREADY!!!!!
Amen ?. Soooooo ready to get back to normal. That does not happen until enough folks get the vaccine.
Not gonna happen even then. Everywhere you look now vaccinated people are coming down with covid. Nothing is going to change, even with 100% vaccination rate.

My wife and I are vaccinated, but our 7 year old son isn't able to yet. So we're holding back from doing many things because we don't want to risk his health. His day care just shut down for a couple weeks because they had some cases (we suspect it's in teachers or parents, but don't know). None of the kids there are old enough to get the shot. Now every parent has to figure out how to juggle work and child care for these two weeks. It's so frustrating when you're doing everything you can to keep your family safe and your lives are disrupted because of people that don't consider all the others that are affected by their selfish actions.
You admit you don't know where the cases come from.
And then just 3 sentences later you claim the cases come from selfish actions.
This is the kind of nonsensical blame game that is causing more harm than good during the pandemic.
It all depends on if you believe if masking everyone helps.
If it does then yes people who don't mask would be being selfish causing the spread.
Full disclosure...I aint wearing a mask unless everyone is wearing a mask. Just seems futile to do so...If 50% of the people at a location don't have masks on...No one should have a mask on...It just doesn't help.
I am not going to wear a mask for show...I will wear a mask in a situation where it will be effective.
That's exactly it. I believe that if everyone had masked at the beginning, the whole "2 weeks to flatten the curve" would have made a difference. It wouldn't stop the whole thing, but would definitely have saved some lives. I'm tired of seeing people suffer and risk dying because people are too selfish to put up with a little inconvenience.
lol
First, during the "2 weeks" they were telling us masks didn't make a difference. So blame Fauci and "science".
Second, during the 2 weeks, we were quarantined at home. Not around anyone. Masks wouldn't have mattered.
You trumped your post where you jumped to conclusions, with a post that makes no sense.

Well my point was that he (and now you) jumped to a big conclusion. He (and you) has no idea where the spread came from. Could be kids living with infirmed guardians who cannot take the vax. Could be the kids of double-mask wearing vaxxed Jeff Warren.
There is nothing that tells us mask wearing is 100% effective - even if 100% of people wear them. In fact, everything tells us they are NOT 100% effective.
So, no, it's not necessarily selfish people causing spread.
