So, where does this year's team need to improve? I say that there are two main areas.

We were ninth in rebounding with a minus 2.7 per game. E seemed like a good guy but for his size and minutes he wasn't a rebounder. With a hopefully healthy Doherty and with Telfort and Pridgen sharing the PF minutes this should change.

We were eighth in turnovers. This seems like a coaching issue.

If we are going to get the bid we have to be number one in more categories than just "most three pointers attempted."

Pridgen will definitely help the cause rebounding!

Yes, he should. I hope we don't handicap him. In our offense when a shot goes up our forwards are usually in the corners spreading the floor andwaiting for a pass for an open three. Did Joe get any time in the backcourt at UNCW?

RE: Hoops
I was off the grid for a bit but liked this question. I gave it some thought and crunched a few numbers. Some areas I think will be important and where I believe we could improve/win:
• Rebounding: We were -2.7/game in rebounding last year (2.3 if you net out the 4 games vs majors). I definitely want to be at least an even rebounding team this year. With our depth and athleticism, even being +1 or +2 is not unrealistic in my opinion
• Turnovers: We turned the ball over 1.7/game more than our opponents last year (1.3 adjusted). More depth, experienced players and better ball handlers other than relying so much on Tyson could help
• 3 point %: We won this category by 3% last year (no significant adjustment for the major games). Specifically, we shot 35.4% and held opponents to 32.4%. With our emphasis on D, I always hope Coen teams win this category. I also hope a few guys can improve our percentage a tick this year (i.e. Stucke who shot 33%) or at least keep us at the same %
• Free throws: Opponents shot 54 more FT’s than us last year although this was skewed by the 4 majors shooting 34 more. Again, depth, athleticism, etc. could help I hope

Hmmmm.........I didn't see free throws as a problem because the top 144 site focused on FT percentage and mid seventies is okay. I didn't know about total FT's taken. I do know that we fall way too much in love with three point shots at times but as last year went on Telfort went to the hoop more and more and Pridgen lives in the paint and so does Doherty. I can see our FT attempts going up this year.
