55-14 score makes that happen. ECU's defense is really bad.

RE: CFN SBC Week One Predictions
Do you get the high flying scoring type of game that the AAC generally sees when ECU is winning or do you see ECU's offense look completely inept like they did against GSU?

Considering App and GSU run the same-ish defense, but App does it much better, I'm inclined to believe that this is a 41-21 type of game, where App has a pick six or fumble return for a touchdown. Perhaps Virgil gets in on the action and returns a punt for a touchdown?

It will be interesting to see how much BETTER the flow of playcalling is now that the Godfather himself is back running his own offense. I think people have underestimated how fortunate App was to finish 9-3 with an offensive coordinator learning the offense he was calling without the ability to practice and host meetings. Ponce and normal practice schedules should see App return to where they were in 2019.

I learned my lesson and never click on CFN links. I’m sure it’s par for the course for them - load a page full of ads and just a little bit of article text and now you need to hit continue to keep reading the article, which opens a new page full of ads to make them money and annoy you.

What did they predict for South Alabama/Southern Miss?

They are picking USM to beat South.

I think this is USA’s year to make a statement. I think they start with this game.

Maybe, but Southern Miss probably isn't as bad as their record indicates. They were missing a lot of players, and get most of them back this season.

Well, that would be a disappointment. Appreciate the vote of confidence.

RE: CFN SBC Week One Predictions
IMO

Both the Citadel and Coastal want to get ahead and sit on the clock. I don’t see Coastal scoring 45 unless we are trying to prove a point or for some reason we can’t stop the Citadel on O. Citadel used to disrespect Chadwells last school on the regular so you never know. Still don’t think it’s our style. Coastal wins comfortably.

ECU is good at either getting home run plays or quick three and outs. I really don’t think ECU has the talent to keep up with Apps balanced offense and defense. I also don’t think ECU will get lucky enough on their deep ball to keep it competitive. App wins big as long as they have a serviceable QB.

RE: CFN SBC Week One Predictions
App’s defense is going to be really good, maybe the fastest we put on the field since moving up, but we have an annoying habit thru the yrs of letting opposing offenses move up and down the field for the first couple of drives, wouldn’t surprise me to see ECU put up a couple of scores, hopefully just field goals before the defense settles down and dominates, offensively we should be fine and put up a lot of points. APP 42 ECU 24

They are picking USM to beat South.

It may happen, but I’ve always thought that USA performs much better against their OOC schedule than in conference.

You mean like 2016 when we went undefeated in OOC regular season play, which included wins against Mississippi State and a top 25 SDSU but went 2-6 in SBC play? Lol. Ugh.
