Schumer’s statement is similar to those made by failed presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton called Trump voters a “basket of deplorables.” The full quote ran as follows:

Schumer is pretty much at the top of my "despicable" and "vile" list, along with Pelosi. But I wish republicans had someone as fiery as either of them in leadership positions, instead of Milquetoast Mitch and Innocuous McCarthy.
