Our contract may be going up.
According to this article, the first of 3 look ins for our rights agreement is this year. If that is correct, look for ESPN to tie some form of expansion into that to bump us up. I can easily see them having us take WVU and bumping the contract to something closer to the current going rates. It won't be won't be B1G or SEC money, but it wont be $30-$40 million behind either. Here is a link to the article that mentions the look in clause. The first is reportedly to take place this year.

That article is from 2016. We already knew about the look-ins. I dont believe that the look-ins will provide the league with what we want it to. I hope Im wrong.

RE: Our contract may be going up.
This IS a look-in year, and I do expect some change to result in a small pay increase (maybe $3 to $5 million per school, to get to around $40M avg.) - but that wouldn't be from expansion, it would be from restructuring to put some games on ESPN+, IMO.

Expansion has nothing to do with the look-ins, and can happen at any time, TBH.

WVU is a money loser or neutral at best. It adds nothing for the ACC.

The ACC needs a $10-$20 Million add just to not fall behind.

Doubt it would ever happen but with Texas and Oklahoma likely moving into the SEC, 2 schools that might be feeling the walls closing in in Football that just might bring up revenue to the ACC in multiple sports could Be Kentucky and South Carolina. Yes They don't necessarily at new TV markets but The fit into the current ACC Geography. Both are Flagship state schools. Kentucky has a huge fan base and has a vastly improved Football program that was close 2 years ago to play for the SEC Championship in a very tough East division. Just a thought but realistically won't happen

I think those two will simply give up on football and focus on basketball.

I don't think you'll find a single add that nets that much money, but I do think you can find a bunch of $3M to $4M adds/tweaks/changes.

Also, because the ACC is so under-paid at the moment, almost ANY team - if it fetches the current market rates - will result in an overall increase. If negotiated properly, I could see adding 2 teams for an extra $4M per ACC school, even adding 4 teams for an extra $8M per school.

I could also see Comcast/ACCN giving the ACC a bump of about $3M per school.

Great. NONE of it is worth extending an already too long GOR.

That is off the table for any sane school (so FSU might resign it....because their leadership is just stupid).

On that point we agree 100% - no more contract extensions!
