Sooooo.... any possible UAB realignment news?03-phew

Still in CUSA and probably will be in the unforeseeable future.

As much as UAB football fans dislike Ray Watts, I think he did coordinate a big increase in the endowment.

Well that is his job to increase endowment so he doesn't get an attaboy and a pat on the back for that.

He started and completed a billion dollar fund raising drive. I hate the SOB as much as anyone on the board, but I have to give him credit for that.

It would have taken half as long if he hadn't killed football halfway into it, though.

Great!

I’d have no reaction to Wreck or Panama, as they stated their opinion just as I. Some hate me on this board, so they decided to eat some Georgia tech booty to get back at me.

My post history on both this and the AAC board has always been positive concerning UAB, even being to the point of being an advocate. However, it seems some of you have decided to turn the thread I started into a GT hate thread. Complaining about games that didn't occur in the Watson Brown and Bartow era? Was looking forward to attending the Tulane and Liberty games. Figured I might wear one of my GT hats and that by chance some of you might ask if I'm the guy that posts on here every now and then. Right now I'm wondering if that would be unwise. 05-duck

I have seen any number of posts by you on the AAC board supporting UAB. You've gotten slammed worst by a couple of the board yammerheads.

I will say this though - the post by Blazerjay stating the history? If he says that was how it happened, you can pretty much take it to the bank. He knows more and is better wired in than virtually anyone else I can name on this board.

Come on over for the Liberty game. We'll feed you up at our tailgate and if anyone gives you crap about your GT hat, I'll hit them with my Blazer hat. 03-nutkick

Please don't equate disdain for GT to disdain for you. I am utterly indifferent toward them, but have always found you to be a pleasant poster. Away from the board, most of us are decent guys. Stop by the tailgate on the 2nd.

I'll take you up on it!

Speaking of hospitality, I use to live in Beaumont, Texas and about 10 years ago took my son and a friend of his to the the UAB game at Houston. Earlier that week I called the UAB Athletic Department to see if they had any shirts I could buy for myself and the boys to wear at the game. The guy I spoke with was super nice and agreed to meet me at a certain place outside the stadium. To my surprise, he ended up giving us the shirts for free. Ended up being a nice souvenir for the boys.

Oh, I know. It was obvious, and the fact people would do that for Georgia FN Tech was just disgusting.

Other than Tuscaloosa, no other nearby school has dissed UAB more than GT. Have a little self respect. To slobber their knob just to get back at another Blazer fan over politics is a disgrace. Now THAT is a being a ****** UAB fan.

Being polite to a fan of Tech that I have seen repeatedly support UAB on the AAC board is not "slobbing Tech's knob". Wreck is not responsible for what the GT athletic department did any more than you are for what UAB's does.

As to showing some respect, try not being a Richard to a visiting fan. He's had nothing but good to say about UAB that I have seen, and it's not like he came in here and started talking smack.

Lots of defending GT's honor when from a UAB perspective, they have none. Besides, Wreck chimed in as a Tech fan, not to talk about UAB. I don't read the AAC board so to me he was a Tech fan repping his school. No, as a from the beginning Blazer fan, I will not stop being a Richard about Georgia Tech so might as well drop it. As has been pointed out quite well, for UAB they are not just some other team. I said have some self-respect as in not lauding a school that has acted arrogantly, and dishonorably it seems, towards OUR program. Wreck should figure that out by now and adjust accordingly, not UAB fans. I wasn't attacking him personally anyway, more reacting to what I saw as pretty putrid behavior by UAB fans. If you felt you just had to chime in after BlazinBham posted, you are guilty as charged. Like I say, too many political nuts are ADDICTED.
