With all the P5 players joining from the portal this season, it is almost impossible to predict who will win any of these awards.

No kidding Joe, these prognostications are all over the place. Pro Football Forecast doesn't even mention DeAngelo Malone, not even honorable mention. They have Sincere McCormick as the 3rd or 4th best running back also.

I decided to rank teams according to their participation in the C-USA's Pre-season Awards. I know it means nearly nothing but it suggests some correlation to people's perception of talent on these teams:

Preseason awards are OK, since this is the preseason. But I really care more about the postseason awards, since they include the players who are surprisingly better than expected.

I agree. Awards should be done post season only. A “watch list” would be more appropriate in my opinion.
