Get out of here with your buuuuuullllsh…No one cares about all of your concerts that you hold in your stadium. Hell, the concerts actually outdraw your football team. Terrible argument.

love the non sequitur interjection that adds nothing of value to the discussion. pretty sure the point was the value of one's stadium in various quantifiable desirableness.

(although it's entirely possibly i may be responding to a troll bait on the CUSA board at 1am for no good reason... in which case, touché)

Aren't you guys in Atlanta with like a bazillion people? Of course concerts are going to be popular there. Gameday atmosphere is all that really counts. Does a good chunk of the city get involved? Do they tailgate for 12 hours before a game? Are the school colors everywhere for miles around? Do they pack the stands? This is what makes a great stadium? I don't know...honestly asking. I've never seen you play or know anything about your team other than you beat Charlotte every year.

with all due respect, you're missing the point. I wasn't discussing the athletic brand appeal of respective athletic departments. that is an entirely separate debate of its own, and can be widely argued subjectively as well...but for another place and time.

my scope was much narrow and precise in response to the FAU fan's comment, toward identifying the merits of your stadium itself within certain objective benchmarks. arguably you may score various factors such as facility improvements, a certain degree of generally agreed sentimental desirability (its historical significance for example,) practical designs and functionality, but all those could be biased by subjective and dogmatic undertones we all hold naturally as fans and alums of respective institutions. So instead, I simply asserted, perhaps, that the market power itself and past contractual concurrences may indicate such merits as the force of invisible hand tends to dictate how people unilaterally agree in principle. TLDR, for example, the quantifiable market value that corporations deemed worthy toward your facility and how it compares in the current landscape, the desirableness with regards to third-party appeals to collectively gauge overall services it may provide, specifiable profitability that one returns to your institution as a source of additional income as a direct result of its goods and services, and marketing allure as conceived by its degree of association and acceptance within the normative mainstream mediums, not just among sports fans.

Maybe we do need a split GA St and UNCC can discuss all the great things to do in the area other than go to football games on Saturdays.

RE: CUSA VS SBC 2021
ok, let me ask a question: will a corporate entity be willing to put their name on a pig sty that brings in 30,000 weekly or on a state of the art marvel of a stadium that brings in 15,000 a week?

Furthermore, even if we were to allow the same number of spectators in college football games, but the pig sty being the only place in the area to house the whatever musical groups versus a state of the art place, which may be just one of a dozen within 30 miles?

I am not saying what the right answer is. I am suggesting that there are many factors that may have nothing to do with college football or even with a school itself. Corporations just want eyeballs on their name, regardless of how these eyeballs got there.

Marshall fans in here taking out their anger for being left behind continually. The value these folks have in their minds they should be in the SEC by now.

9/4. USM @ South Alabama
9/11. FIU vs Texas State
9/11. FAU vs Georgia Southern
9/18. Charlotte @ Georgia State
9/18. USM vs Troy
9/23 Marshall @ Appalachian State

I'll predict that CUSA will have a 4-2 record.

We'll beat every SBC team we play this year. No worries. Looking forward to our first game vs USA. USM will probably bring around 5-6k fans to that game.

i think USM prob beats USA, GSU prob beats UNCC, all the rest look like toss ups to me.

Heavily biased but i see SBC going 4-2 USM beats USA FIU beats Texas State. Wouldn't be terribly surprised to see 5-1 or 3-3 either though.

Not gonna happen. Jags had a good opening game in 2020, but went downhill after that. 2021 will be a much improved USA team. Have a lot of respect for the Golden Eagles, but the Jaguars will pick up a victory in this one.

Prepare for disappointment.
