lookin' like we got a better chance to catch the Kings for 3rd 'cause the Stars are bookin' it right now and they have two games in hand yet with a homer schedule down the stretch.
Well, now it looks like we might be able to catch Dallas for that last WC spot, if we end up beating them in a few days, as long as things stay close.
Vegas made a huge mistake trying to pull a Tampa and resting top players on IL in mid-season. They just lost too many games they should have won with a proper roster. Vegas is one of the top teams, but they won;t go to the playoffs due to piss-poor roster management. Not the coach's fault and not the players' fault; they are a great team and their management needs to learn from these totally avoidable blunders and not make these mistakes in the future. Martinez's freak face-cut injury early on that kept him out most of season was only legit injury that really hurt.
GN's played a helluva game last night and beat the Caps in OT despite Ovechkin tying Gretzky And recently deceased Mike Bossy at nine seasons of 50 goals each, which is impressive. I think Logan Thompson (who was put in during 2nd per) is the 160th goalie O has scored against.
Thanks to the almost-traded-but-no-not-really-just-kidding Dadonov for scoring a gutsy goal in the early 3rd to tie it up, and LT played well to keep it close and give the Knights a chance. All-everything Shea Theodore with the backhanded goal in OT to seal the win for the good guys. Thanks to Caps for giving us Chandler Stephenson.
Vegas basically has to win out, but with only four games left, they're still a long-shot to make the playoffs, and their first-round matches won't be easy even if they do. Still, it's Vegas, so they're the kings of long shots. Would be sad to see them miss out with such a good team this year, but that's the way the puck drops, sometimes.
