RE: CFN Predictions for Every Sun Belt Game
Was CFN the site that famously picked the Sun Belt to go under .500 in league play a few years back?

Sept. 4 Gardner-Webb W
Sept. 11 at Florida Atlantic W
Sept. 18 at Arkansas W
Sept. 25 Louisiana 50/50
Oct. 2 Arkansas State W
Oct. 9 at Troy W
Oct. 14 at South Alabama W
Oct. 23 OPEN DATE
Oct. 30 Georgia State W
Nov. 6 Coastal Carolina 50/50
Nov. 13 at Texas State W
Nov. 20 BYU 50/50
Nov. 27 at Appalachian State 50/50

The largest unknown is the impact of the OC on the offense, regardless of QB situation. 8-4 would be nice, as would 7-5 especially with that schedule.

Even with Blake running the show you guys were never pushovers, just had to be patient and wait for Blake’s WTF call was that? Hopefully those calls are a thing of the past.

I think our biggest question mark is simply the number of new players. We have something crazy like 40 or 50 players who will be playing in the Sun Belt for the first time this year. Jones completely overhauled the roster, and the question is can they gel in time to figure out how to compete and win in this league.
It's crazy to call it an overhaul when the starting QB, two best RBs, four OL, TE and several WRs return on offense.

I expect a lot of new faces on the defensive side but that was SORELY needed and the change to a four man front is the best news I have heard in years.

The number of players that will be on campus who could compete for time will be REALLY high. The HS and transfer walkons are more impressive on paper this year than a lot of the scholarship guys Blake brought in during his time.

Bold prediction beating Ark, I get they are low man in the SEC, but it’s still the SEC with SEC talent, not saying it can’t be done, just a bold pick.

Idk, it may be overly optimistic but I'm expecting UL, CCU, BYU, and App to be ranked this year...wouldn't surprise me to see them all ranked when Southern plays them but I don't expect Arkansas to sniff a Top 25 so on paper that means they should be our 5th most difficult game which I hope we can win. However, I know that the path for Arkansas to become ranked is much more difficult than UL, CCU, BYU, or App and I realize the difference in athlete that is recruited to an SEC school so yea you could swing that game to my "50/50 bucket".

Really looking forward to seeing what Ruse will do.

No disrespect to DeBesse, but I'm fairly certain if we still had him, our predictions would be something other than 6-6..

QB will make or break our season is what I'm thinking. If Tomlin or one of the untested guys can master the Ruse offense then I think more than 6 wins are very possible but if not then hold on cause it's going to be a rough ride. I can see us going anywhere from 4 wins to 12 wins in 2021 but my prediction is 8 wins this season.

This is probably closer to reality. GaSo can always go either way, but I think we'll still get the win. Louisiana is one that has been within one possession more often than not.

Um...

2020 was the second time an App - Louisiana game ended with a margin of victory of one score or less.

You're right, my mistake. The last two games were within one score. The three before that were by 10/11 points.

..returns almost every starter from the 6-4 season (with very close losses to Louisiana and App)
..that would've been 8-4 if not for cancelling charlotte and fcs games
..all the sophomore guys turning juniors
..GSU being checked in as a win for most

feels like a perfect storm is coming. we shall see in few months.
