RE: Basketball Facility Updates
The new Moody renovation at ACU surely looks like it is already paying off in some great recruiting (men and women.) Here is a story about a great recent committ. I guess $55 million for the arena (per story) and a strong basketball program looks pretty good to an incoming signee (it would to me). This young man could be a really fine addition to the program.

Here's Lamar's Montagne Center court with the new WAC logos. The center court Cardinal was replaced with the block LU, also.

Quote from today’s Tarleton State of the University address by our President;

“Later this month the university will hold a pre-proposal conference for development and operation of a state-of-the-industry hotel and convocation center complete with D-I basketball facilities.”

RE: Basketball Facility Updates
According to Our AD (Moccia), the PAC repainted basketball court is probably a total loss due to moisture absorbing into the wood. The athletic department will assess the damage to the old court over the season as it dries out but expects to probably replace it for the 2022-23 season. So, for this season, NMSU will be playing on a temporary generic court (with a few NMSU decals) for the upcoming season.

Sorry to hear that. I am really interested in our situation as posted above with the idea of having a hotel/convocation center. Started with A&M building the hotel across from Kyle Field. I guess it's our turn at this hotel thing.

"Construction of a $12 million NCAA Division I Aquatics Center is nearing completion, and upgrades abound across the Stephenville campus. Later this month the university will hold a pre-proposal conference for development and operation of a state-of-the-industry hotel and convocation center complete with D-I basketball facilities.

The president noted that economic developers and regional leaders have long expressed the need in Stephenville for a multiuse facility capable of seating large crowds. “It will soon be a reality,” he said."

We should have marketed as a throwback court lol maybe it wouldn’t have been as embarrassing. These straws are just out of my grasp…

He has mentioned stickers at least twice, yet people keep commenting like a plain court is going to be the norm for the season.

RE: Basketball Facility Updates
From a SFA poster on Sawmill about the practice facility...

Ribbon cutting still on for October 29. Meet the Jacks on November 2, and a Chamber Business After Hours event on November 4.

Practice floor won't be finished until late November. The floor finishing process takes about 20 days, and there wasn't enough time to get it done before the scheduled events, so it is being left covered until after November 4.

Aside from the important stuff, there was a rumor going around campus that there is a hair salon in the facility. And, a hair dresser has been hired that will make a salary of $60,000. Reality is there was an unused nook that the players wanted to use for cutting each other's hair. There has been a barber's chair put in there. An absurd example of some of what is going on from the anti-athletics group.

It's unfortunate, but everyone has their detractors. I get it that athletics isn't for everyone, but when people start distorting the truth to further an agenda, I get annoyed. Even IF they hired a hair stylist, and even IF it were for $60K, so what? If the budget allows it, more power to ya.

GO AGGIES!!!!

I could care less what the court looks like. We're getting a new one for next season. That is all that matters to me.
