Happy Independence Day!
Charlotteans celebrate this day as the date the rest of the colonies caught up with us. On May 20, 1775, the Mecklenburg Declaration declared our independence from the King, and it is memorialized on the NC State Seal and Flag.

Mecklenburg is the country Charlotte is in, and next year you can celebrate with us the ride Captain James Jack took to Philadelphia to deliver the Meck Dec by lifting a mug in his honor!
