Temple and Tulsa Transfer Portal Losses and 2021 Impact
Interesting article on 247 that looked at teams that were most impacted by outgoing Transfer Portal players.

College football teams who were crushed by transfer portal losses this offseason - 247 Sports

Tennessee seems to have been hit the hardest, but Temple was mauled as well.

From the article:

The Owls were raided following the 2019 season and that did not change in 2020. Here’s a sampling of what Temple lost via the portal: Starting quarterback Anthony Russo (Michigan State), 2019 Freshman All-American Re'Mahn Davis (Vanderbilt), starting right tackle David Nwaogwugwu (Rutgers), starting right guard Vince Picozzi (Colorado State), all-AAC DE Arnold Ebiketie (Penn State), all-AAC DT Ifeanyi Maijeh (Rutgers), starting LB Isaiah Graham-Mobley (Boston College), starting cornerbacks Linwood Crump (Colorado State) and Christian Braswell (Rutgers).

Whew.

On Tulsa

Frankly, Tulsa had a pretty good run in the transfer portal if you could ignore the secondary. The Hurricanes added a pair of potential starters on the o-line and got more talented at running back and linebacker. But ... you can’t ignore the secondary. Tulsa had among the nation’s best defensive back groups in the country last year, ranking sixth in coverage grade per PFF College. Three of the biggest pieces of that effort, cornerbacks Akayleb Evans, Allie Green and Ryan Nixon, all decided to enter the transfer portal within the span of two weeks in May.

Yup, we got hammered by transfers out this year, lost a lot of experienced players. We did get transfers in, but on paper its a net loss. What Owls fans hope for is that the potential of the incoming transfers continues to grow, as many of the new transfers are underclassmen and have multiple years of eligibility. We are especially eager to see how SO-QB Mathis, transfer from Georgia, performs. That is balanced with concern about why did so many players leave in the first place. Additionally, Vegas does not think much of Temple 2021.

Tulsa got hammered too. I would trade all those who transferred in for those three corner backs who have entered the portal. It is a tremendous hit. If they at least transferred out earlier, Tulsa would have had the opportunity to pick up players at it would have been attractive to potential transfers with three CBs transferring out. Tulsa did pick up a CB from TAMU.

Vegas and tools like S&P I don't think properly understand the depths of Temple's COVID issues last season and how it impacted the on field product. I'll be betting heavily on them first few weeks of the season probably - they aren't as bad as last season makes it seem.
