Temple University Hires New President
For once I am extremely happy with a hire that the Temple BOT made.

Played football and ran track at Stanford. Degrees from Penn, Harvard, and Emory. 1st African American President at Temple University. Philadelphia resident.

This appears to be a strong hire and a pro athletics hire as well!

I don't think this hire will change anything regarding athletics unless he hires a strong AD and new coaches in FB/MBB and reinstates Baseball

You are asking for a lot.

For starters, I'll bet he knows how to have a conversation with the Stadium Stompers. And City Council.

Yes we need a dynamic AD. I am impressed with the BOT hire in this case. A person with the new president's skills know that a strong organization is built with high quality individuals in leadership positions. I see Temple's stock on the rise.

Agree on academics, and that he will most likely be the right person to bring an OCS to fruition, I'll respectfully reserve judgment on strong Athletic Department structure for at least 2 years

This looks to be a great hire for Temple, as noted on many levels. His resume is stacked with educational, finance, and business credentials, and he was a Division 1 athlete who understands the importance of athletics to a major university. I believe that a new AD will be one of many priorities.

Will the stock rise high enough to get the OCS back on track or has that boat sailed. With all the downtown kick back for a stadium there, will Temple just keep playing at the LINC. The high priced downtown stadium pays a lot of rent at the LINC and keeps peace in the campus neighborhood. Personally I enjoy the LINC with easy access off 95, the tailgating, and the restaurants after the game. The South Philly complex is great for Phillies, Eagles, and Temple games. JMO. 07-coffee3

While I believe an on campus stadium would be best fit Temple football, I don't see it happening any time soon. If its not on campus, I think the Linc is our best option.

I hope you guys get your own OCS, it completely changes the way your gameday atmosphere feels, not to mention the tailgating and gameday revenue.

This.

I loved the amenities of the Georgia Dome. But having your own place changes everything.

Not to mention he was a student athlete at Stanford, which is the pinnacle of athletic and academic excellence.
