Landers Center would be a good location IMHO.
holds 8,800 for hoops. 9 hotels and the Tanger Outlets in the immediate area plus lots of restaurants. Safe, quiet, cheap, but only 10 mins from Graceland and 25 mins to Tunica casinos.
I've suggested this repeatedly, there is no more centrally located location.. In addition Memphis area BB fans support BB with their attendance. I believe attendance when the conference championships have been held in Memphis is the highest the tourney has experienced.
plus, the games Memphis plays in would sell out making it look good on TV...you would also have a lot of WSU and Cincy fans there as well.
8,800+ is a better size than some 13-18k arena IMHO.

To be fair, we still have no idea what the attendance in Dallas will be like. However, given its driving distance from Tulsa, Wichita, Memphis, Houston, and perhaps even Tulane---I suspect it will be quite good once we have a normal non-Covid year. Basically, we have 5 school fan bases that can get there cheaply---and 4 of the 5 seem to really care about basketball. If the rest of the league combined sends another 4 or 5 thousand---its going to be a pretty full arena (plus whatever walk-up crowd you can generate from the 6 million souls of the Metro-plex).
One other thing, I remember a CUSA article talking about how corporate sponsorships were so easy for CUSA to get in Dallas that their tournament was set to turn a profit before they even sold any tickets. My guess is now that the AAC HQ is in Dallas---given the vastly superior product and exposure the AAC tournament offers---the AAC brass believes that riding the wave of corporate sponsorships in the Dallas area will be very lucrative for the tournament.

Talking about attendance....Memphis's 2019 men's BB attendance is about the same for Dallas, Houston and Tulsa COMBINED. I seriously doubt that will be beat Memphis even with the 6M souls of Metro-plex. I didn't count Tulsa since they average less than 1.5K...probably most of them are students and vendor/parking lot staff family.
Now, number of corporate sponsorships...Dallas easily beats Memphis. I say rotate (Dallas, Memphis, Orlando) to see where AAC makes the most money.

[/quote]If you are tossing out home cities ... Wichita hosting it at Intrust Bank Arena (15k capacity) would rival or beat most every other option.
Now Wichita doesn't have all the extras of Dallas or Memphis but had no problem hosting the NCAA first rounds a few years ago with really good attendance.
