Does playing that many weeknight games have an effect on your fanbase? I notice App State for example, has to play Louisiana and Coastal on a Tuesday/Wednesday. It’s great to get the tv time, but do you feel the trade off is worth it?
Personally, I think it is worth it, but I would worry over time it would take a toll on the fanbase and start seeing attendance issues. I don’t guess there is a good option for us G5er’s. Either play mid week on tv or play on the weekends buried on some off channel or streaming service.
I'd say App has been negatively impacted attendance wise more than most in the league since we can pack the house for good Saturday matchups. On the other hand, the exposure has clearly helped our status in FBS football. It's just so hard to know if the positives outweigh the negatives. Georgia Southern has also taken a beating at the ticket office with a ton of midweek games.
Coastal fans would probably see mostly positives since they didn't have great attendance anyway but are now getting a ton of publicity from TV. I would think GSU, USA, Texas St, and ULM fans would have similar thoughts.
UL, stAte, and Troy are probably a mixed bag.

I think this is the right answer.
However, we all have to balance TV time with the nationwide issue of declining attendance anyway. People, especially younger people, just aren’t carving out this much time for sports attendance. Not in this mobile age. Sooner or later, the TV time thing is gonna be even more important. Fan attendance will shift to higher end experience for lower numbers. Again, most places. Maybe some of the rural areas of the Sun Belt will hold up better?

RE: 2021 Football TV Schedule
Currently 14 SBC games are scheduled. An increase of 50% means 7 new games with 40% (3 of them) on Saturdays.
Moving forward the Sun Belt will have at least 21 ESPN games and like most years, more if we do well.
21 ESPN games > 15 CBSSN + 15 Stadium games.
Use this to our advantage Commish Gill
