I don't envy the committee this year, that's for sure! Lots of teams will be pissed off regardless, more than usual.

But I have no doubt that, in the end, the mid-majors will get screwed the most.

Charleston gets out of the jam with a K and lineout. Their reliever, Ty Good, has pitched 4 tremendous innings in relief for C of C.

Northeastern and Charleston are underway in their elimination game. Hoping for a quick one so we can get our game started on time and maybe stay ahead of the weather.

NU is throwing redshirt freshman righty Sebastian Keene (5-1, 4.25 ERA, 63 K's, 59.1 innings - 11th start) while the Cougars are countering with a freshman righty of their own, their Friday guy, William Privette (1-3, 4.05 ERA, 32 K's, 40.0 innings - 6th start).

Privette threw 3.2 innings in relief on Wednesday. But he looked good to start the day today, inducing a 1-2-3 inning out of the Huskies.

Pitching continues to dominate thru 2 innings. Both Keene and Privette have each retired the first 6 hitters they've faced.

The first baserunner of the game gets on in the form of a leadoff walk for NU.

Privette works his way out of the inning with three straight outs via the air (one pop out, two fly outs).

Charleston gets their first baserunners on back to back 1-out singles by their # 8 and 9 batters in the order, the latter one being an infield single.

1st & 2nd, 1 out for the Cougars in the bottom of the 3rd.

Keene works his way out of trouble as well, getting a pop up to second and a ground ball out right back to him.

Another 1-2-3 inning, the 5th combined by the 2 offenses, puts the Cougars back to the plate in the bottom of the 4th. Still no score.

Quickly 2 up, 2 down for Charleston here in the bottom of the 4th. Tanner Steffy to the plate trying to prevent yet another 1-2-3 inning. Charleston has had 2 of those so far.
